I ordered mine off of Nintendo.com, and aparently they are shipping.
Here are my impressions after a week of playing the Wii.
Red Steel
I love this game, it's got a good story line, the voice acting has to be my favorite part because they got Japanese people who spoke english to do it so it sounds authentic. The control scheme has to be my favorite of any FPS, less mouse and keyboard to date. I find myself trying to do the same moves in Zelda (trying to turn the camera). The sword fighting in the game can be a little tricky and to pull off some to the really difficult moves is very hard if you're not perfectly lined up to the sensor bar. I'm about 71% (according to the game) complete with it, and I wish there was more. The learning curve for the controls is cliff steep. But once you learn them you can fly around with the controller, and be extremely accurate. I love the focus mode, and the fact that if you make the leader of a group surrender, his whole team surrenders. The lighting in this game is also spectacular, when you shoot through glass the cracks are great, and when you shoot through paper walls, light comes through, and it looks great too. When objects shatter, like glass, they explode, and I love it.
Zelda
I just started Zelda last night, and discovered a HUGE scratch along the outer edge of the disc, I just returned it today and got a new disc, I'm at the point where I enter the first real dungeon. So far it's got a great story, and very interesting puzzles. I love it.
Monkey Ball
This game doesn't really compare to Zelda or Redsteel, but it has alot of party games, I wish you could hold the controller to the side like a classic controller, making it easier to control.
Wii Sports
I have played this game to death, me and my cousin played golf for 2 days straight. The controls on golf can be a little tricky when it comes to putting, you can try to put half a foot, and it goes all the way to the top of the bar. I hit a -3 and thats about as good as I could get it. The game play is simple, but fun. The fact that I feel very natural doing all of this in game, makes me feel like nintendo has a winner (if they can keep those wrist straps from breaking). Definitely not just a gimmic.
Only problems I've really had are with battery life, and with the sensor bar. Earlier in this thread I talked about my cat chewing through the sensor bar cord, well I went to Kmart and bought a 12volt power adapter (thats what the Wii puts out according to the voltometer I have. I spliced the wires to the sensor bar and it's extremely picky about shorting out. But I have it working until my replacement gets here along with my 2 nunchucks, extra wiimote, and component cables. My batteries are about to run out which tells me I need to get some rechargeables bad.
Thats it my review after a week.
