I think the Wii will be the dominate platform with the XBOX 360 for 2007, and unless Sony comes out with some decent games, the PS3 will be headed the way of Beta VCRs.
as strong as the sales are going for the wii, it still has a lot of work ahead of itself to dominate anything IMO. The launch titles are decent, but not spectacular. They have to keep the games coming. and the 360 has a huge head start and availability.
the PS3 I doubt will go the way of beta... sony has a fairly large loyal fanbase. And so does FF XIII. Bluray (and HD DVD for that matter) may go the way of beta in favor of on demand content though. And if sony decides to cut prices early next year, there may be more adopters. Dunno if Sony can still be in business though...
I do hope nintendo continue the momentum. I don't want to see them go bye bye.
On a side note... I stuck in my 8MB SD card freebie from my camcorder... 50 blocks. Zelda and Wii Sports took 2 blocks total to backup.. woohooo... what is anyone going to do w/ 1GB memory cards (I heard you can't copy VC games over to them).

Does anybody know what the difference is between having a character in the Mii Parade (from somebody else's Wii) versus picking them up out of the Mii Parade and putting them in to the main Mii menu to intermingle with your own Mii's?
I've very confused about that part. TIA.

No, it's not. I've played VC games off the SD card. Although I haven't figured out how to set it up so game saves go onto the SD card and VC games play off the SD card.
You can't put VC games onto an SD card and play them on another Wii, they're tied to your Wii - otherwise there'd be no way for them to prevent piracy.

Anyone have any idea about when Nintendo is going to start shipping component cables ordered directly from them? I ordered the evening of the 19th and it's supposed to ship this week.
Also, in regards to the SD cards, you're supposed to be able to load mp3's on them and play them off the card as well as use them in certain games like Excite Truck but I haven't tried it yet. I really wish they would let you hook an external drive to the USB port and play mp3's off that.

I wouldn't worry about nintendo going anywhere. Whereas Sony and MS are backed by multi-billion dollar companies that will throw money at their consoles no matter how much they hemorrage, nintendo actually makes money quarter after quarter, and is sitting on a huge cash reserve. They aren't going anywhere, anytime soon, even if the Wii was a miserable failure (which is obviously isnt).

While I see the potential for short term domination, I dont see the current Wii being on top for more than 3 years - by then the other systems will be so far ahead in terms of graphics itll be hard to compete.

But gamers will absolutely turn their back on a company if they put out a sh*t product. Sega got screwed on the saturn and dreamcast, and nintendo got screwed on the N64...don't think it can't happen to sony, too.

3yrs is actually pretty good for a console making profit on day one. They don't need to wait for manufacturing costs to drop to be in the black.
Did gamers turn on the dreamcast? I thought it was more developers... no game support hurts badly
And if the wii failed, I dunno... that's a lot of money lost on unsold systems, even with cash reserves. maybe they'd just refocus purely on the portable market.

the DS wins flat out by a long shot, and it's graphics/sound are inferior in every which way.
