I've calibrated, made sure the sensor bar settings are correct, just seems like a pain. I have a projector with a 120" diagonal with sensor bar at the bottom.

Hmm you may have discovered a nitch market for 3rd party sensor bar that works with massive screens.
Probably not too far off. Check this out, very interesting.

Good to know, my cat ate through my wire connecting to the bar (I am so pissed) I might rig up something so I can play, The sensor bar has wires that are not shielded, they are a red and orange wire, seperated by twine. I can't get my sesor bar to work now, I'm trying to fix the wires. Do you think that it shorted out the Wii's sensor bar port?

There is zero communication between the sensor bar and the wii. The port is just a power line and a ground, and the "sensor bar" is just a few IR leds. You could rig up a battery for it if you were so inclined.

I just got COD3 from gamefly.

The controls do take a little getting used to. It has the opposite problem of red steel....it's TOO sensitive. The "dead zone" in red steel is basically the whole screen, making it impossible to quickly turn. But in COD3, the dead zone is miniscule - which makes it easy to move around, but damn near impossible to keep the screen still. Its amazingly hard to aim when the screen is slightly floating one way or another. But after a little getting used to, I can compensate for it. All the sensitivity seems to change is the rate at which is scrolls, but doesnt change the dead zone.

Anyways, the graphics are decent, but it's marred by the composite cable - it's damn near impossible to tell allies and axis apart, and I'm just shooting at wherever I see a muzzle flash. It is *incredibly* satisfying to clear out a room close up, but from far off, its too hard to snipe cause of the floaty screen problem.

Also, it is really, really hard to use the A, B and control pad buttons all at once naturally. I have to contort my hand to get it done.

But the biggest problem? The audio was engineered by a total freaking retard. The surround sound is backwards - sounds coming from my rear come out of my front, and vice versa. Also, looking directly at someone shooting, you hear them from the side. Turn to the side, and you hear them from the front...so its not even just the sound coming in out of phase and swapped channels, It's COMPLETELY broken. I've tried it in stereo mode, and it didnt make any difference. Wasn't much problem with back and front, but side to side was still really screwed.

Yes, my speakers, receiver, Wii etc is set up properly, properly wired, in phase and balanced. I know what I am doing here. The game is screwed up...don't have this problem with any other game. I keep dying because I keep getting confused by the sound...it makes the game nearly unplayable. Which is a shame, because despite the touchy controls, I was enjoying myself...but its just too frustrating.

i would say solder it, but those types of wires are a pain in the a$$ to solder if you are not a good solderer. Find someone who solders very well, they can do it.

Who cares about hte damned controler already?

Wii Sports is sickeningly addictive.

I've put almost 3 hours per day into it the last 3 days.

Zelda is amazing as to be expected, very very good controls. Little confusing with puzzles at time but nothing too horrible

COD3 is good but as someone stated VERY sensitive controls. Hard to aim at time, I find it's easier to get some automatic weapon and spray and pray.

Red Steel....at first I didnt like it but once I got used to the controls, it's a snap. Swordfighting is fun too. Red Steel is probably better than COD3 in the intuitive department. And arguably, graphics.

Marvel:Ultimate Alliance is like a more in depth version of X-Men Legends, but again very fun and intuitive controls for the controller.

Trauma Center...not sure yet need to find a copy of it.

I pulled the wires apart and tried holding them together to see if the sensor bar cant atleast turn on, but nothing ever happens.

Until Jan 07, yes. They will be releasing a USB ethernet adapter, but not this year. I'll try the static IP when I get home.

Do you think a normal ethernet->USB adapter would work, or has Nintendo done something so that only their adapter works?

ARS Technica has a work around using the Nintendo Wifi dongle (i think its for the DS)

Yes you can, $10.

Nintendo.com online store

Go to parts and accessories, choose Wii, then you'll see sensor bar and a lot of other stuff.

I think I'll buy an extra one, my cats have been eyeing the cord to mine :Q It'd also be good to have an extra for when I want to take my Wii somewhere with me.

is there any way of turning off or lowering the volume on the wiimote!?

Press home, and go down to the controller settings. The entire bottom of the screen is a button, which isnt obvious at first.

ooh man i never noticed that! thank you!

I just got off the phone with Big N, they're sending me a new sensor bar. They were gonna make me do the advance replacement, but they just sent me one for free, which is good because I cut up my current cord trying to put it back together.

I think it's the fact that they sell it for $10, meaning that it's dirt cheap to manufacture, the wires inside dont even have their own plastic around them. It'll cost them more in shipping than the actual bar.

See, I told you they would probably send you one for free. Nintendo is known for their customer service unlike some company. *cough* Sony *cough*
