If the 4.96" screen is 16:9 1920x1080, then its viewable dimensions are 4.32" x 2.43", or 110 mm x 62 mm.

That means the width can be anything over about 66 mm, assuming minimum 2 mm bezel on each side.

It's claimed that device has a width of 2.69", which is just over 68 mm. That's very good for a nearly 5" 16:9 screen. However, like I said before, it's just too wide for my tastes. I prefer much less than 65 mm, and ideally less than 60 mm if I'm going to use a case, so that means somewhere in the 4" to 4.3" range.

Why would you have to downgrade the camera to get 3000 mAh? The G2 packs it all in with a very small form factor for a 5.2" phone. But honestly with a 2300 mAh battery, it's only roughly 10% worse than a GS4. If the new Nexus can optimize the software well enough that it matches the GS4 or is only 10% worse, then I won't complain.

However, knowing how Google has been traditionally with battery life, I highly doubt it will be just 10% worse than the GS4.
exactly,
when has google ever "optimized the software well"?

In the above image what is that black square box(that I circled around with red line) in at the top in between Camera & potential audio jack. Is it a fingerprint reader or what is it?!

I grabbed a ruler and tried to fit an imaginary 5" screen on the N4. It is possible, but the top and bottom bezels would be less than half of the current N4's. (shorter than 1/4") And something like ~2mm side bezels.

The pictured one above is taller than the N4 and they're about the same width. So if it's the real N5 it is not smaller than N4. It is tiny bit taller.

Bezels are so thin! (which is good in my book) If the bottom bezel was for the capacitive buttons, the screen estate would be ridiculous. I am rather unsure of the soft-touch back. It doesn't look very comfortable to me.

I haven't been in this thread for a while and I come back to see the usual people going back and forth. Just agree to disagree already damn. I have to dig thru page just to get thru the pissing match and novel sized posts.

Popular case maker, SPIGEN, has chipped in with another rumour on Nexus 5. SPIGEN has posted a Amazon listing for a case made particularly for the soon to be released Nexus 5. And according to the listing, the case will be available in stock from October 31, 2013, the possible date of Nexus 5 announcement(if not the release date).

From the pictures it seems like the top and bottom bezels increased in size going from the G2 to the Nexus. At least the bottom definitely looks bigger.

I don't believe in those renders as they(SPIGEN) would've get those renders done by some graphics professionals. Because, because these images just look alike those from FCC, except that black square box at the top on the backside. This might even be a just a public stunt with no truth in it at all, who knows.

Looks like for sure the glass back is gone, replaced with 2013 N7 style soft touch plastic.

One thing there has been no hint of is thickness, the N4 was on the thick and heavy side, hopefully they slimmed it down some.
