i'm sitting here in my dorm, compin on my comp, as my roomie turns on some sort of chick music... sounds like christina agular (sp, not that i care).... its loud too... ughhh.... thank god for noise canceling headphones and some Deftones...

anyone else get stuck with the roommate from hell?

yep it's a fact, hes a weiner.

We have a lot more space, plus I don't get so cold at night anymore.

The trick to controlling the room is to "do it first" so he can't do it. Music on, tv on, occupy the space, etc. etc....

A NORMAL person would not make their music louder over yours or switch the tv channel on you. Control it first... like if you knew he was about to come home... just turn it on.

I solved my music problems... buy bigger speakers. These cheap, Logitech Z-560's do the job.

Of course that is not the BEST way to solve your problems... but good enough until these BS "quiet" hours come into play.

anyone have any good ideas on how to go about getting him to move? i have a friend that has a single in a different dorm, they could swap and it would work out fine.... it's not like my roommmate has any friends down here anyway, all he does is sit in the room when he isn't eating or at class... then he wouldn't have to put up with me constantly making fun of him.

My wife before we moved in together had one of those roomates from hell. She would listen to the backdoor? backstreet? or whatever boys all day long. On weekends she would apparently not shower and would start to smell. Also she would wake up my wife early in the morning to watch some crappy show on tv.

Course years ago I had to put up with the roomate who came home drunk, blasted the stereo and then had you know what half the night with this woman who was a "screamer". The theme usually didn't vary too much from that. Needless to say I moved into my own apartment after living with him.
