I do not understand this argument, even though I have seen it many times. Do you use a tablet? If you can handle a 9 or 7 inch tablet, why is a 4.5 inch phone too big?

I'm eagerly awaiting a phone with a sweet 5.5" screen. Bigger is better.

(Although having the latest and greatest OS stock by default is also very important, so I use a galaxy nexus rather than a note.)

because i hold a tablet with 2 hands

I hold a GS3 with one hand and can do everything effortlessly. People make excuses about a phone being too big but it's really not an issue unless you're a midget.

a 7 inch tabled is nearly 3 as large as the SGS3. i can hold my nexus with 1 hand and do everything effortlessly as well. was not talking about a phone

If the iphone 5 launched with a 4.5" screen it would be the new perfect size for phone screens....But it didn't so the arguement still stands :)

I wish it did move to 4.5" because .5" in height is pretty...I don't know the right words but my feeling is "meh" with a shrug.

I still think the worst thing about the phone is the battery that is not user replaceable and no SD card slot. So what if I actually fill a 64GB version up? I might want to stick some video on my SD card at that point. Especially when the 64GB version is selling for $400 and you can get a 64GB microSD card for about $60. That's nothing but a total ripoff of the customers IMO.

There is no perfect size, everyone has their own preferences. I want a Note 2, someone else wants a mini phone, etc.

Bwahahaaaa!! That's it. Seriously? Well it was a good run iPhone. Good job on basically ignoring every complaint anyone has ever had about the iPhone.

I would have preferred a slightly larger screen. Now my debate on whether to get this or the GS3 begins. My main reason for the GS3 is the bigger screen but to be honest it may actually be too big of a phone relative to what I want.

The sd card slot I can understand, but the battery...why do people want to change this? Its a hassle to change it. Seal the damn thing and forget about it.

I agree with you....It was more of a pun type of thing :)

I too am ready for a larger screen and the Note 2 is interesting to me also. Waiting to see what the US version is gonna be and how much it's gonna cost. The size is fine with me as I use my phone more for other things than phone calls. The features of the Note 2 look to be nice so far!

More power in a phone is cool....But without a larger screen to back it up seems pointless to me :)

And another point on the battery, I've never come close to running out of juice on my iPhone so I don't even see the need. My EVO? Hell I could have used 3 of them and maybe made it to the end of the day.

I think some people worry about the battery degrading over time. I upgrade fairly regularly so it's not an issue for me but if you keep your phone for a few years...

Exactly. My wife's 3gs is damn near a paperweight these days due to no battery life. Our only option is trading it in for $150 to apple.

Is the only way to preorder through apple.com on the 14th? I thought that historically you could also preorder through ATT/VZW..

You can get a battery replacement kit on eBay for $5's or so. Why not just change it if you wanna keep using the phone.

One of my users on my companies plan is due for an upgrade. I may use hers just so I can get the ip5. I foolishly used my work upgrade to get a razr as i already had a sgs2 and a sgs3 personally. But may get the 5 just because.

I can see the worry. If a phone's battery is dying, its probably upgrade time anyway.
