Kinda sucks tho cuz....there are still like a 1000 odd auctions for gmail accounts on ebay.

So ppl have gotten invites within the last 3 weeks (that is how long an invite is valid I think) and are selling em.

My last invite was over 3 weeks ago and it was just one invite.

It looks like the gmail crack down on ebay is working. I believe there was an article last week or so mentioning google is tightening invites to stop money transactions. At the time the article was ran, I think someone ran a search and there were over 1800 listings, but it's down to 1000 now. I have 5 accounts total, but I've only gotten 2 invites in 3 weeks, and nothing in the last 2 weeks. 🙁

But you have to wonder, as the number of invites decreases, does it mean ebay price is going up?

source CNET

"According to Google's new policy, altered Monday July 1st, the Web search company prohibits Gmail subscribers from selling, trading or transferring the free e-mail accounts "for any unauthorized commercial purpose." It also bars people from setting up multiple accounts in violation of the policy.

The changes are designed to deter people from creating multiple e-mail accounts with the purpose of reselling or trading them, according to a source at the company. The policy alterations do not target people trying to barter Gmail invitations, which allow people to sign up for a new membership."

Also says you cannot transfer accounts from one person to another.
