I don't know..they appeared out of nowhere..it was weird.
 
I'm getting quite mad at google I got a gmail account almost 2 weeks ago and have not gotten any invites yet 🙁 I feel like a loser.

I think google might be limiting them now, I am only getting 1 every other day or so, odd, considering there was a run there for awhile that I would get 6 everytime...Who knows, there network might not have been able to handle all the people signing up because it was way slow for awhile and had numurous outtages, now it seems to have stabalized again.

Hi, anybody got a Gmail invite to share? I kept missing it. I will share my invites to give back to the this community since Anandtech communities have helped me so much.
 
Just an aside:

I think it's amazing the sheer amount of people that have created accounts with anandtech for the sole purpose of getting an invite... hope everyone that signs up actually contributes to the community instead of just becoming a lurker with a name! :roll:

PS: I do have one gmail invite left, but due to someone by the name of ICR5 taking my last invite when he already has MULTIPLE gmail accounts, I will be giving this one out at my sole discretion (read page 56 near the bottom to see what happened).
 
I decided to go ahead and hand out my invite to a lucky member by the name of grimmgrinn...

He doesn't have a lot of posts, but has been a member of AT for 4 years... that's quite a bit longer than me 😉
 
I don't want a Gmail account, so if you want to piss me off go ahead and send me one 🙂

Not to thread crap or anything, but what are you guys going to do when google moves gmail out of beta? Who knows what they'll do when that happens. Maybe they'll charge you, maybe they'll lower the quota size. Or a combo of both. Maybe they'll add real ads, or popups. Maybe they'll sell your gmail address to spammers. Or just read through your emails and grab every address in those and sell those off to spammers...

Just a little food for thought before you all go all out and use gmail as your main email address. I'll stick with my own private mail server myself, I get 120gb+ quota 😀
