Give Google a fake name and YOUR OWN email address. They will then email the invite link to YOU. You then copy and paste the invite link to whomever you desire.

Hey - you should try out gmail4troops.com (if you haven't already) - it appears to be a site providing a mechanism for ppl with gmail invites to give those invites specifically to troops. You've got to have an actual militiary email address though, I believe, else no one will send you an invite from there. Best of luck!

I've been trying to replace my hotmail account forever, I freaked on April 1, when I found out I wouldn't have to deal with my own mailserver to do it.

Really - only officers? I didn't think "troops" were officers!?;-) Okay, seriously, it's just that "back when" I was doing a small tinge with the Canadian Forces, I quickly learned that troopers and officers were NOT the same thing in an armoured corps! Kinda surprised that gmail4troops would only be for officers... hope you're sure about that before skipping over the option.

Anyway, best of luck getting a gmail invite - I'm hoping/looking myself!
