It seems to be working fine for me. Maybe a different server processes new accounts.


Anyway, ALL INVITES are GONE. maybe more later. Share the love guys.

I just wanted to point out that I havent received any invitations yet to give to other people, I dont know if anyone else has that joined yesterday has??? Anyone?
 
I asked to be PM'd awhile back, but I thought since it seems to be slowing down, I would repost my request. I guess I'm not to good to beg 🙂
 
Man I really missed out on this thread after leaving work last night....So what is the count on accounts given out on this thread since it started yesterday morning?

btw...I am still looking for one, if someone cares to PM me one, since I wont be able to use it until I get home!

Also anyone else get lucky with that refreshing page?

Im not sure begging by posting a small message request is really constructive to this thread. There is no way to really track who gets an invite, and who doesnt. Plus, its difficult to check back into the thread to follow the order of requests, if one is even set. Before the posts were semi constructive and there was some conversation. Now it seems like a flood of canned messages asking for an account.

Since google seems to be pretty generous with the invites, more and more people will be distroing them. In a while requests will be filled, but since the whole invite thing started spreading about a week or so, the third volley of invites should cover a good deal of those who want accounts.

This thread seems to have gone south quickly...not for the requests for gmail, but for the people wanting to only give invites out to select members, and people looking for services for their invite. Seems to me that the initial posts were just tossing out invites to ANYONE who wanted one. Personally, I'll wait until it goes public.

And yes, I do understand that lurkers are parasites on a board like this, but it is a public board, so stop complaining.
 
Can someone please PM me with an invite? I've been waiting anxiously to get my foot in the mysterious world of GMAIL.

I have a couple I can give away...but you guys are gonna have to work for it.

Here's my problem. I have a bike - one of those old 1970's Raleigh bule road bikes that everyone always tells me were THE thing to have (kinda like gmail now) in 1975. I love this bike. However, I keep having problems with it - mainly that the tires don't keep pressure for more than a couple hours or days. I've replaced the tubes a couple times, even moved to newer 90psi tires. Most recently, after doing my best to get the bike in shape for the summer, the back tire lasted 8 hours before going totally flat. Last night I put a new tube on, and now there's a new problem....the tire starts to lift off the rim in one spot at about 40-50 psi. The tires say 27x1 1/4, though I looked at the old tube and it says 27x1 1/8.

Obviously I don't know a helluva lot about bike repair - I just want to get the damn thing to work without a lot of hassle - and obviously I've been doing something wrong. The first few to PM me with honest, informed, helpful advice get a gmail invite for their trouble.
 
i recieved a invite this morning but still haven't been able to log on. I keep getting this stupid msg:

Gmail is temporarily unavailable. Cross your fingers and try again in a few minutes. We're sorry for the inconvenience
 
i havent had any issues logging into gmail from 2 different locations now. in fact, its been smokin fast every time ive tried to get on. much more repsonsive than yahoo imo. then again the interface is basic and really leaves a lot to be desired. i have a 21 inch monitor and this is taking up just the top fourth of it 😕

that's odd. i haven't even logged on once since i got the account, which was early at 7 am this morning. it gave me that stupid server error right when i registered for my account. maybe the registration didn't go through?
