You might have the wrong card, not sure. However, tomorrow isn't 15 days out from November 18th, so IDK what the guy on the phone was talking about. It all sounds like an unsurprising mess, given that I had to get 3 employees to scan Super Smash Bros. 4 times to get my GCU (which I've had and used since late-May) to work. It's a hassle every freaking time, though trade-ins have gone smoothly of late.

Yea I'm sure I have the wrong card and two different reps at my home best buy including a manager could not figure out why it's not showing up. Even if you get the gifting gcu card they should be able to attach it and activate it to my account. But they could not for some reason. The first bar code is for who buys it, the second is for activating the card for the person receiving the gift.

I told them this and they tried the second bar code and still their system didn't find it or process it.

It's always a mess every time I shop there even with the same employees I've seen all the time. There rarely is anyone who knows how things work. Looks like I need to keep the receipt and card and bring it each time I buy games there. They will manually need to give me the 20%.

That's pretty moronic. My store's gotten better, as far as interacting with the same employees as always. I've only had two guys there ever do trades, and they both seem to have it all done now. Meanwhile, when I got Smash, I had to help an unknown guy figure out how to use my gift card as payment.

Picked this up on a Black Friday sale.

Fun game. Enjoying it more on the Xbox One than 360. Bucket List challenges are fun but my driving must suck because I can't finish that second one LOL.

If anyone wants to race or just cruise around:

Yea I'll be pissed if I have to carry that receipt around every time. It will soon fade out. Need to go back to the store a third time and try to get them to activate my card. Or maybe I'll go to a different store this time. If they can't resolve it I'll just not shop there any more as it seems to have been a waste of money and time, going back twice to the store, talking to CS, managers, calling the 800 number. Don't know how not even one person knows what to do.

I assume that there are no refunds for it, because you'd think someone would consider giving you your money back and having you buy the other card or something.

Well the deal is dead but the gift version of gcu just needs to be attached to my account as if I'm gifting to myself. Just that no one knows how to do it.

Best buy forums mentioned one of the members went back to the store and got the correct card and had to have the employees enter it as 0.01 cents to swap it out. I have the receipt and I'll bring far cry 4 with me too. All they have to do is scan the second bar code and attach it to my best buy account. Which they refused to do because they told me they had tried and it wasn't working. I'll just wait until Monday and hopefully get it sorted.

I normally buy a lot of games through the year and buy new if they are interesting enough so that's why I picked it up.

I should have purchased it the week when I bought the Xbox one because I saw the subscriber card was light blue and the person ringing me up knew what they were doing but I didn't want to buy any games that day so I refused.

If that doesn't work, you could also make a new account, gift it to that, then call the CS line and have them do another account merger.

Apparently I already had two reward zone accounts which the rep on the phone said he would merge. Hope he did that. Wouldn't be fair if the activation had a time limit so by the time my accounts are merged I'd be out of luck.

By the way forza horizon 2 is great. I already got first place I'm the main race with the supra. But I think I will just choose the bmw so I may start it over. The graphics and handling of the game are great. I was waiting to try drive club on ps4 but forget it. I'll probably be playing this a lot.

Zoo tycoon isn't bad either but it's tough on even the easy mode since they are premade scenarios. Can't complain I got it for $14.

Tried to order it last night on the MS site. What a disaster. They advertised it as $30 but that was only for Xbox 360. The Xbox one version is $40.

Just checked and I find it weird that last week best buy was offering $28 for cod aw trade in. I check today and it's $40. I'm a gcu member so I'm going to trade it in and get horizon 2. Kind of wanted to get Dragon age inquisition too for ps4 but I guess that can wait.

Yeah, I saw that and passed at $40. I did buy Forza 5 GOTY for $25 though so I at least got that.

you don't stick to 1 car in the game, so restarting the game to get a new car is dumb. you change cars for every cup, and there are i think 128 of them.

Yea I didn't like the supra stock handling but I realized after the first two races and some bucket list challenges I completely modded the z4 more to my liking. Does anyone use headsets in the game seeing as how all the players are actual people?

all the players aren't actual real life people you are going against, they are drivatars of real people. you're only playing real people when you get into the online modes.

Yeah, Forza 5: The only game to get a GotY release with basically nothing added. I was so pissed, which is why I'm mentioning it...again. All you get is the free DLC maps on-disc and one Top Gear car pack or something, while they left all of the Season Pass content out, despite the fact that GotY releases are know specifically (nowadays) for including the paid DLC in them. It's disgusting.

Wow, good to know on the GotY edition.. Glad I didn't pick it up. Pissed at Microsoft for making the X1 version of Horizons 2 $40.. From the ad it really looked like it'd be $30.

What's the difference with motorsport 5? I'm really enjoying horizon 2...would I like the previous?

Forza Motorsports 5 is a track racer. You go from track to track and race on a real race track. No open roads. You might still like it but it's much closer to a sim.

I'll stick to horizon 2. I find it odd I'm better at the hard bucket challenges like drifting and air stunts than I am at the easy and medium challenges. Still can't beat the Ford gt40 challenge. I come so close and then screw up last minute lol.

I think I'm at 3-4%. There is plenty to do as is I feel like. Although I usually skip most of the bucket lists because I can't get through all of them, at least the hard ones.

So wait, they're already releasing paid DLC outside of the Season Pass before the Season Pass content finishes releasing? This is why I can't buy Turn 10 games, it just feels so dirty.

VIP wasn't a season pass. The season pass was for new cars. They said so before launch.

I know that. I just mean that with most games, when you buy a Season Pass, you get all of the planned DLC. Then, you have exceptions like Borderlands 2, where they released the holiday-based DLC after the Pass and charged $3 per-DLC, but that was after all Season Pass obligations were fulfilled. Here, we're talking about getting a $60 game, throwing another $25 at a Season Pass, then having another $20 DLC release before you're even through the release of all Season Pass content. I mean, if you bought the game at MSRP at launch, this has now turned a $60 game into a $105 game.

Yeah, yeah, it's all optional content. Still, it sucks to sit and watch so many developers treat these $60 releases like they're freemium mobile apps, then throw microtransactions and paid content on the side. It almost feels like publishers wanted to raise game prices to meet rising development costs, so they just cut out content from planned games and turned it into paid add-ons, making almost any major game's full experience run customers $80+ nowadays. At the end of the day, it's just harder to buy a game now when you know it's going to have another $20-50 in content in the near-future, because you have to weigh your interest in the content vs. how insanely expensive some DLC is (compared to the amount of content provided).
