Still not buying one until there is gameplay footage of Zelda and a release date.

Also, no second controller support after how many years after release?

You're not the only one suddenly wanting a Wii U...

When Yoshi flung one of the "eggs" at a piranha plant and it didn't "kill" it but knocked it to the ground and wrapped it up in a piece of yarn for Yoshi to go jump on I thought "my god that's so perfect". I'm usually not one to really get wrapped up in graphics (good or bad) but I really think Wooly World is one of the most visually appealing things I've ever seen. The amount of detail it has and how that construction feeds into the game and the gameplay is just so charming.

I may have to buy a Wii U now. Open world Zelda looks amazing. Supposedly all done in engine. Seems Nintendo has the kind of games I actually want to play. Getting a bit bored of grey-washed shooters and zombie games that Sony and MS keep putting out.

Unfortunately we are still a ways away from Zelda

I was listening to the Nintendo webcast while in the car, and I wasn't really all that enthused by the sound of the Yoshi game. However, after seeing the pictures, I have to say... that game sure is purdy! It reminds me a lot of the more unique setting/aesthetic that you see in a game like LittleBigPlanet. I have no idea if I'll enjoy playing it, but it looks nice at least.

As for Zelda, I have to say that the game definitely looks nice, but I'd still like to see some gameplay. It seems like they want to make it more of a 3D Link to the Past, but not a 2.5D like Link Between Worlds. As for Hyrule Warriors, I've always been a Musou fan, so I'll be keeping an eye on it.

I was kind of hoping that X would come out this year. I was also hoping for some Metroid rather than Nintendo-landers.

Getting a bit bored of ... [the] zombie games that Sony and MS keep putting out.

That was one thing that got a chuckle out of me last night during Sony's conference. The guy was all, "People want zombies!" "Umm bud, that was about two years ago. We're practically zombie'd out at this point!"

I don't think there's actually anything wrong with having zombies, but most people just do the same sort of supernatural/horror shooter game, and it's just not that interesting anymore.

Just said 2015... we all know what that means.

Sorry, I'm dumb...what does it mean? I might actually try this out, as a non-Zelda fan who wants more Wii U games.

I have a deep seated love for Pokemon from being a kid but I wish they'd do something a little different with the IP - I still think a Pokemon MMO would go gangbusters.

PokeMMO on the PC's pretty sweet, just not updated enough. It runs on the ROMs of GBA games. I've been dying to see Nintendo do a massive game on a home console for years. I want all of the regions, all of the badges, all of the Pokemon, and either SLOOOOW leveling (so everything isn't 100 and unbeatable right away) or a much-higher (500?) level cap. I always hated how you were basically done trying at about level 60-70, because that's as high as the competition got.

This made-up thing about "grey-washed shooters and zombie games," is ridiculous beyond reason. The only shooter Microsoft showed was Halo, which isn't grey-washed. I mean, they technically showed CoD but that's not their making (nor is Battlefield, which EA showed). Dead Rising 3 is the only zombie game I recall exclusive to either console, while Nintendo itself has Zombii U so the complaint there is unwarranted.

Stop making things up and actually look at what each console has for exclusives. Sunset Overdrive (I guess it's pseudo-zombie) is ridiculous, colorful, and cool. Fableisn't grey-washed, a shooter, or a zombie game (though not a franchise I care for). We're getting a mess of indie stuff on both consoles. Zoo Tycoon is already out, and Little Big Planet is coming. Project Spark has almost-limitless potential. I don't know how people can still make this claim that it's all shooters on either console, because it's not even THE MAJORITY that makes up shooters anymore.

Overall, I'm both excited and displeased with Nintendo. On the one hand, Zelda sounds like it might FINALLY be worth trying. Yoshi's Wooly World is the cutest game ever. I'm 24 years old and was smiling like a moron at that thing, I love it (I also loved Viva Pinata). Super Smash Bros. will be great, I imagine. Mario Party 10 will be on the to-buy list as well. The potential for using those toys across several games is nice, considering how much they are.

On the other hand, a lot to hate. For starters, there is NOTHING to get in 2014, except SSB. The rest are 2015 titles, and probably late-2015 at that. They also didn't announce Fire Emblem OR Pokemon for the Wii U, which sucks BADLY (especially since it means we likely wait until 2016 for them). Then, the toys...I said I like the potential for cross-game purposes, but it's a nice alternative to the Skylanders mess, where you have a swarm of toys every year, to go with a new $75 starter pack. However, the mere existence of these concerns me. I don't want to see character counts decrease in games using them, nor do I want to have to spend $15-20 on these things to beat games.

Overall, Microsoft still gets the clear win for me. Many games I want from them, many of them soon. There are probably twice as many games I want from Microsoft in late-2014 than there are total library and upcoming games on the Wii U that I want through 2015.

During the xbox conference, several games said they were using dedicated servers. Did they mean servers to host online mp modes or did they mean cloud processing power even in sp games? Ms lead us to believe their grand vision was cloud processing power for sp games but I am having a hard time seeing how that could ever be utilized.

I thought MS and Sony were pretty even this year (unlike last year when Sony trounced the crap out of them). All I got out of Nintendo's announcements is that the Wii U is still doomed.

Yes, it's quite clear that I live in a fantasy world. More like someone's a little butthurt that I'm personally getting a bit sick of those games. If you like them, that's fine. People's tastes change. Don't see why you have to call me a lier. That's a little uncalled for.

It sounded like multiplayer servers to me. Honestly, I'm rather glad to see the change as the idea of paying Microsoft money for XBOX Live Gold when all they provide is matchmaking is just a slap in the face.

Not a liar, misinformed (though potentially a liar, depending on the level of knowledge you make the comment from).

The real thing is, who is "butthurt?" you made a claim, I refuted it. You didn't offer any defense of your argument, you just called names. One of us made points, the other made a claim, then got defensive and rude upon reading said points against the claim. I'm in no way upset, I'm not "butthurt," whatever that means. I simply want to prevent such misinformation from being spread because of some brand loyalty ridiculousness, or whatever leads to false accusations about what the One and PS4 offer.

I think they mean for multiplayer there, but that doesn't mean that campaign cloud computing isn't part of the future. They said on Twitter that their cloud physics demo was an early Crackdown 3 build, which I take to mean that it will use the tech in its games, and we know Forza Horizon 2 will as well. Oh, and that Pure Pool is going to build Drivatar-like pool profiles for people to build up, allowing people to play against you when you're not there, just like Forza.

I'm not sure if they were even. I don't bother with Sony's announcements because I'm not getting a PS4. I got a One and a Wii U less than 2 months apart, so I'll have plenty to do as it is.

I'm still Meh on Nintendo...by the time these games actually arrive I'll probably be playing games like Bloodborne and stuff so I dunno. No excitement...not for cel shaded zelda really. Not when you have a console supposedly more powerful than a 360.

for example the yoshi game looks cute but it just seems like it's a regular yoshi game but they decided to throw in a gimmick. In this case everything being made of yarn. The series has been good except for that touch n go game. Not sure i'd call it a must buy.

i'd like to see some more online stuff. Maybe a 16 player bomberman or something.

That's just it, you want to see online stuff but Nintendo just isn't setup for that and likely doesn't know how to do it in a way that would be close to what people are used to today.

Some of their art styles are nice but in some ways I feel deep down that they are hiding behind "cute" and "art style choice" when they don't know how to create a game with tessellated surfaces, real time reflections, ambient occlusion, and other effects we have gotten used to and take for granted these days. Yeah maybe the games are fun for some people sure, but they need to draw me in somehow. Showing me a platformer that has the entire world made of yarn looks kind of neat but doesn't make me want to run out and buy it. I'm not who they are marketing to I guess. In contrast seeing how great the games like Batman, Forza, Witcher, even the CoD Gameplay they displayed at the MS conference, draw me in and make me say "wow that looks good, I wanna play that." It's the same with Little Big Planet. The characters and world look fantastic but the game isn't for me. I tried it on both the PS3 and Vita and I didn't get into it. I understand that most of the game relies on your creativity and I'm just not into building levels myself.

Anyway I think the direction Nintendo is going with these games isn't exactly my cup of tea. I'll probably play Zelda, I always do. I'm just not sold on the short clip we saw. The art style doesn't appeal to me. Beyond that I don't have any excitement for the WiiU. Maybe they will have something else to show us as E3 goes on, but right now I'm pretty content with my 3DS for any Nintendo games I choose to play.

Ah, bummer. I went to pre-order the PlayStation TV last night, but it wasn't up yet. I went today to pre-order a few things, and between the time when I started pre-ordering Sunset Overdrive and adding the PlayStation TV to my cart, it went out of stock at Amazon. It's already the #1 selling PlayStation video game (#8 in all of video games), and the bundle is #2.

I decided to just pick up a bundle for now, but the $40 in extras will mostly be wasted. I would rather spend more money on a better DualShock 4 and a larger memory card. I could always just wait for a good deal and use my spare memory card (I upgraded from an 8GB to a 32GB) and one of my PS3's dusty DualShock 3s. :p

So, I'm going to have to keep my eye open as to whether they come back in stock or maybe just go to Gamestop.

Gamefly is way less than that.

Difference is that you don't wait on PSnow, there's nothing to ship or be out of stock.

Someone did mention once before about a more unlimited deal. Where you could play any title, but it would cost more. Maybe something like that. I'm just guessing.

It will cut down on lag too. Since there is a lot of extra processing that a client/server has to do when hosting MP matches, I am sure the hit will be minimized now that the extra processing will be handled by a dedicated machine. This is the reason that most console MP games have had a lower player count than those on PC.

I welcome the change too, it's about time. I am sure the extra cost associated with running those servers is what kept it at bay for so long but hopefully now they have multiple servers (game software) running on each PC so that when one game is old and rarely played, the machine can be used for things that are played.
