I mean, I'm sure the small companies are not going to acknowledge that they're getting shafted. I'm kind of surprised that someone at Ingram actually disclosed that kind of information in the first place. I personally don't quite understand why companies like newegg and tiger would get precedence (are they paying more? better rep?), but whatever. I'll take my chip wherever I can get it.

Yeah, i was hoping to wait for all this crap to die down, but my computer motherboard stopped recognizing DVI gfx card, so now i have an old Geforce3 TI 200 in there running on my XP 2600, so I wanna just get this cpu now.

Hey All, just got my order email in from BLT for the e6600:

"ETA: 8/4, 8/16, 8/25, 9/1 for arriving"

so they are expecting shipments on those days, but could change, in case you guys wondered about SHOPBLT.COM, thats the email they are sending out.

I believe quite a few places in the UK have them. I'm guessing they don't ship to the US, and if they do, it takes a week.

I preordered a E6600 from Buy.com since they are pretty much Ingram Micro. I e-mailed them this morning and they replied saying they have no ETA and that the product is on order. I just noticed that Buy.com is listing the E6600 for $339 with free ground shipping - 1 to 2 week wait. I paid $375 with overnight shipping, so I don't know if I should keep my order, place a new one with Buy.com, or wait for Newegg as everyone else seems to be doing.

Also...if Newegg gets a shipment of conroes today, why would they wait til monday morning to put them up on the website?

If the UK has them, that should mean places in the US are about to have them, too. I can't imagine that Intel would ship to the UK but neglect the US, because that's just backwards. Also, the UK is several hours ahead of places in the US due to the timezone thing, so possibly in 5 hours US places will start showing them up as in stock, too.

Maybe, but that link someone provided has listed E6600's for several days now, so the UK places with the CPUs in aren't from any shipments today. Don't get your hopes up, is all I'm saying.

gah...wheres the newegg shipment of C2D?

i really really really really want to get rid of my temporary pentium D 930, running like a furnace (52C idle).

ive read several times that they are supposed to have them in stock on monday, when WWDC starts.

From what i understand all the major etailers / retailers have a contract with intel by which they are only allowed to sell stock on the 7th but the chips have been coming in and are in stock now. This way it's garaunteed that stock will be able to ship in numbers at the release date and won't be shipping in dribs and drabs, apparently it'll piss less people off.

That's what i understand anyway, maybe be totally wrong.

business and patience.

Best Regards,"

Just like ALPHAFOX said, they supposedly have multiple distributors, well I'll see about NewEgg on monday morning, and go from there.

wait and see time, ugh ive NEVER done this for a CPU before, bad timing i guess.

Who knows who their other suppliers are, but Ingram is the main supplier for everyone. their stock status page is a copy of ingrams stock and ingram said some small vendors link to them like that. the rep I talked to there said that MAJOR e-tailors were going to be getting the first batch, listing the names I allready stated as getting them first. when I said BLT he said he hadnt heard of them. maybe someone else talked to BLT other than the guy I spoke with, I dont know but from MY conversation it didnt seem as they would be getting any soon as they were a small outfit. Ingram said that the big guys like newegg were getting some 'to get them out for the gamers.'

Tankguys is showing the E6600 in stock, but it's probably an error. I went for it anyway, if I have to cancel it because of their error, it's their bad not mine.

Nope, not in stock - it's an obnoxious glitch in the system. I figured the giant red:

"****** 1 - OUR FIRST SHIPMENT IS SOLD OUT!! ******"

below would help avoid anyone ordering one and thinking they are actually in stock :D

I have to keep changing it - for some reason, it likes to randomly change the quantity to "1" for no apparent reason. It's a particularly annoying glitch :(

From Tiger for E6600:

All Backordered - These items are currently on backorder, and will ship as soon as we receive stock on them. ( We are currently doing a physical inventory. Your order may temporarily show on backorder. Please allow 48 hours for your status to update. )

not sure whats up with 'doing a phyiscal inventory' though...

When did you have a shipment and when do you anticipate more?

Well IMHO they're probably overclocking all of them and binning the best of the best 6600's for themselves! SOB's!

Yea, keep an eye on that - those dates will move to mid / late August. They are just using the inventory info from Ingram Micro - who, as mentioned just a few posts ago, is NOT getting any today.

Correct your were, the BLT dates have all fallen back to "Past Due", which sucks. Maybe we're going to have a paper launch despite promises of "1 million chips in the first 8 weeks"?

And Apple's not helping with their causing the embargo date of 8/7 to go into effect, and also their wasting of hard to get new chips inside of their products...makes me want to buy a core 2 based mac just to smash it open and take out the chip and stick it in a PC.

Edit: fixed number of chips since it kept getting pointed out despite already being pointed out...still swear I saw someone saying that there'd be "enough chips for one out of every 3 men, women, and children in the US to have one" somewhere on these boards though.

That certainly sounds more plausible...though I could swear that I remember seeing a post here (maybe in a different Core 2 thread) where someone was saying that there would be "enough core 2 duo's in the first 8 weeks that one out of every three people in the U.S. could have one", in the context of arguing about why the high prices wouldn't last for long.

But yeah, 1 million makes much more sense.

I made the argument that there will be plenty based on the number of preorders at BLT relative to how many Conroes should be available by the 7th but I certainly never claimed 100 million. I also think it is 10 weeks as opposed to 8 but I'm not sure on that.

Hmmm, 100 million...250 people million in America, well I think it is more like 1 million, but what do I know?
