I'll wait until my next game to make that judgment. I struggled against Notre Dame (even though I blew them out in a Play Now game) and even though I slaughtered FCS NW, I thought my passing game REALLY struggled. Disappointing so far, as when I blew out ND in my Play Now game, I thought I was over the hump on my passing issues.

Of course, the old adage that practice makes perfect is probably true. I've played 3 games the last 2 weeks -- my two league games and the practice ND game, so maybe I should get off my butt and run a few practice games.

wish i had a pvr or capture card then i could post reviews or highlights of our dynasty games. a capture dazzle card isn't too expensive so maybe that'll happen in a month or so.

oh and i added bucknut or something to my friends list. pretty sure he belongs to this league. anyone else want to join friend's lists just send me invite to CharlestonUSC

lol, what happened?

I consistently play like crap on offense and get frustrated at my lack of INTs on defense while they make ridiculous picks. I still win, which should probably tell you a lot about EA's craptastic job on football games. I am going to get destroyed when I play OSU, Penn State, Michigan, or Wisconsin!

I played Ball State. It was neck and neck up until late in the 3rd when I finally blew them away. Once again, my running game saved me including a sweet 99 yard run off tackle. Some frustrating plays:

1. I threaded a perfect 30 or 40 yard strike to my receiver in the end zone. Yes, he dropped it. This one REALLY pisses me off.
2. I had a receiver who had a step on a DB, so I launched the ball. The ball hit him SQUARE in the hands but instead of catching it, it bounces off and the safety picks it off. Now honestly, I don't mind this play and stuff like this happens, so in that respect, I thought it was pretty cool. What pisses me off is that the CPU seems to make a habit of getting INTs like this while my DBs either are hit square in the hands and drop it or just stand there and watch balls go by.
3. This isn't a play, but I have to keep beating a dead horse. The play calling screen SUCKS, especially when you're on D! Sometimes I barely have enough time to call the D I want, and that is when I know exactly where it is in the play book. EA needs to give you more time to call plays.

I have no one to blame but myself, as I need to practice. I've played 4 total games in the last 3 weeks and clearly, that isn't getting it done. And I know people are saying "You're winning and by a wide margin," but how can you be pleased with a win when you play like total crap on offense? My running game has carried me the last two weeks but once I get to the Big Ten, it won't be as prolific. I'm just not pleased with a win; I want a win where I play well in all aspects of the game for the most part.

One other thing -- I got a patch yesterday and now I notice that it seems to give you "Skill" and "Sportmanship" points. What is that about? Once I finally pulled away, I wanted to practice my passing and it kept docking me sportsmanship points.

Just read that the Sportsmanship score doesn't affect your team's abilities per se, but it does record on your ID card as a way to supposedly help your opponents know if you run up the score, go for it on 4th all the time, etc.

OK, I just played a "Play Now" game against Toledo (my next opponent). I won 63-14 and completed 66% of my passes for 362 yards, 5 TDs, but with 2 INTs. Now let's see how bad I suck next week when I play them in our dynasty.

Anyone know what the default game speed is on the dynasty?

All the skill points and sportsmanship points were in last years game also. They've only just started counting b/c the season is close to starting. That's why you won't get the "fail" anymore when the system tries to report your data to the servers. It doesn't affect your gamer profile rep or anything like that. All these points add up to is your favorite teams point totals for some weekly contest. Really it doesn't add up to a hill of beans. I end up with -500 sportsmanship points sometimes b/c i want to keep practicing two minute drill at the end of the game.

My only complaint about this game with exception to the playcall screen is the DBs consistently dropping INTs. I agree it is hard to intercept in traffic but when the ball is thrown directly at the defender he should catch it!

i just finished my week 3 game and i blew out the fictional FCS team. Onto week 4 and Auburn I believe... Good luck guys.

Had another easy game against NC State. The score was closer than what really happened. They scored all their points at the end of the game when I was bored and I should have had two touchdowns, but my players fumbled the ball while diving into the end zone. Seems that the turnovers and injuries are very random and are not typically in my favor.

I've noticed in some of my Play Now games that if I shut them out all game long, they do seem to magically come alive and score towards the end. Comeback code? Who knows.

I just played a quick game against #2 Ohio State. They went down and scored on the first drive and I thought I was dead. I pulled it together though and with 1:42 left, I led 14-10. Ohio State went down the field and scored a TD to go up 17-14 with 42 seconds left. I got the ball back and hit a couple of long passes to set myself up at the Ohio State 35 with about 23 seconds left and no timeouts. That's when this happened and I won:

🙂

I still hate that you basically have no control over the touch on the ball. If you slightly move the left stick, the ball will likely sail 5 to 7 yards to the left of your receiver.

Had a +30 gamesmanship score going till the end of the game. I was up 24-0 in the 4th quarter, 2-3 minutes go to. Mass sub'd my entire second team offense and defense into the game.

Ran the ball every down. Had a 2nd and long. Decided to throw since I needed another first to run out the clock. CPU had all his timeouts.

Connected on a 20 yard completion. -50 gamesmanship points for "running up the score." Didn't score on that drive because after the completion, I basically ran the clock out with simple runs. Didn't take a knee because IMO, if the CPU doesn't use his timeouts, the game isn't over . . .

Soooooo stupid. I PASS with my SECOND TEAM OFFENSE when I couldn't have taken a knee to finish the game and the CPU had 3 timeouts, didn't score, and it's unsportsmanlike? Lol. Not that it matters at all, but still stupid.

Talk about stupid, I was playing the Road to Glory mode and my high school team was winning with under 40 seconds left in the game. The offense literally called 3 plays in a row to take a knee when the game clock was already running and the other team was out of timeouts. Some really odd quirks in this game.

Wow how do you save the video highlights and upload them like that?

Go to www.easportsworld.com and try signing in with your Xbox Live credentials. If it doesn't let you, click register and tie your account to your Live ID. I'm going from memory from this part, as I registered back in the NCAA 09 days when this first became available.

To create and upload highlights in NCAA 11:

1. Within the game at any point, you can click START to get the menu. You'll see a HIGHLIGHTS selection. Click that. You can actually go through the entire game tp that the point to create highlights, but I recommend creating the highlight right after a play since it would be the last in the list and therefore, easy to find.

2. Once you find the play you want, click A to create a highlight and then choose which view you want to use. You can try all of them before you save the highlight, just to see which one you want.

3. Once you've settled on the view and watched the highlight, click Add to "EA Sports Highlights."

4. After the game is over, go to the man NCAA screen and select "My NCAA Legacy." "EA Sports Highlights" will be the first selection -- click it and then select which type of game the highlight occurred in. From there, you just drill down, find the highlight, and upload it. It will upload it to your EA Sports World account and you can find it there (under Media Lounge-->My Media).

I finally uploaded the play from my first online dynasty game that reminded me of the Manning-Tyree play in SB42. Here is what I said about it in post #38:

The highlight of the game was in the late 3rd or early 4th quarter, with me up 20-17. I was at my own 9 yard line and facing 3rd and 20. The play was similar to the Manning/Tyree play in SB 42. I dropped back and was chased into the end zone with guys all over me. I launched a 50 yard pass into triple coverage, took control of the receiver, and out-jumped the DBs to grab the pass. I didn't pin it on my helmet though.

Guys i have to say i'm getting more and more into this game. I'm playing our online dynasty and also my offline dynasty. The one thing i'm really getting into is the 24/7 recruiting.

I'M TAKING my time evaluating players and making the time to call them and discuss the right topics. it feels really great when a player i personally recruited makes the all america team or wins an award.

anyway just figured i'd share that. and thanks for the info on uploading videos bro.

I was able to get -250 Gamesmanship score today. The game dings you anytime you run a pass play when up by 30+ points it seems, but is capped at -250. I bet this will be tweaked in the coming weeks because anyone that enjoys not rushing for half the game will not be able to post a score.

What a frustrating game vs. Notre Dame. I hate how homefield advantage is so exaggerated in the "toughest places to play" stadiums.

Something like 8 of 24 passing for Kirk Cousins. Hahahaha. I would've thrown my controller into the TV if not for the fact that I hope it happens in real life.

Yeah, when I played them in a single game at my stadium, I killed them. When I played them at Notre Dame in our dynasty, I barely survived and couldn't pass worth a crap. The play that I linked a few posts above was the play that probably saved the game for me, and it was a desperation heave.
