I don't know what my deal is right now, but I totally don't understand the joke you are making, or what you're referencing if anything...

Too much Skyrim on the brain :p, though I am at work right now, and doing my job awesomely as usual.

I'm simply suggesting that you might suddenly find all sorts of reasons for taking several days off in the near future.

I like that you can browse and add/remove Skyrim mods straight from the Steam Workshop now. Very convenient.

Hi guys, I installed the SkyUI mod a few weeks back but I'd like to uninstall it now. Is there a way to uninstall this mod? I seem to recall when I installed the mod, it over-wrote a bunch of core files. Any help is appreciated. Cheers.

It shouldn't have overwritten core files, just some stuff in the /data folder. Did you use a mod manager? If so, you can just choose not to load it and it will be removed automatically (although the files will need to be manually deleted). If you still have the .zip file you can see exactly what files came with SkyUI and manually delete them, then verify your game cache with Steam to redownload any essential files that were overwritten (but, again, I don't think SkyUI does that). You can also load Skyrim and uncheck "Load Loose Files" from the launcher options.

Thanks for the info man, I deleted all the folders, but now all of the ingame menus have a $ symbol infront of the text, hehe. I think I saw a way to fix that though.

I still like that crazy Swedish dude's army of "shildren." :D

I've pretty much finished everything, and after having done the main quest, with only Civil War remaining for my now overpowered character, who is forced to go to untrained weapons and armor, expert difficulty and such just to present a mild challenge, I have at least found one way to completely entertain myself as I rage on Stormcloak encampments:

I bring Odhavaang along to all the parties. :) That is truly epic.

I'm glad they're focused in part on a more believable world. They could start by not having NPCs talk to me until we have a reason to interact (other than to say "Hail!" maybe), and not having all the people and their kids and the guards and the dogs wandering the streets at 3 in the morning, which sort of brings up the question of why the shops close at 8 when nobody goes to bed.

I just deleted another character last night. Can't decide what path I want to go here.....I'll be burnt out on the game before I get a chance to get half way through it! Still addictive though.

On a side note, anyone notice the skin "folds" on the Breton foreheads in the char creator. It's somewhat annoying to look at.

Like crap, the game looked and handled better with all my previous mods!

Thank god I kept my fully modified version backed up in my RAID0 drive, otherwise I'd be stabbing my self with a fork right now.

I turned if off after it brought my system to its knees. It was playable but I'd get severe frame drops. The high res pack doesn't really add that much of an enhancement to justify the performance hit.

You guys had me a little worried, but I put 1.4 and the HD texture pack through their paces for the first time tonight (work's been insane lately), and really had no issues. Solid 60 frames everywhere but load screens, which drop to 30 or so for some reason, and never went above 45 degrees even with constant 75% to 95% load on the card (I really love Asus' DCII technology). Most surprisingly, vram usage was nearly maxed out during all rapid movement, especially sprinting through cities or other populated areas, but I saw little to no slowdown or drop in framerate, and no tearing/artifacting/etc. at all. I feared the worst, but I'm pretty pleased at the moment.

In other news, I recently reinstalled the game, and forgot to back up some mods, and I can't find my dragonscale armor mod on Skyrimnexus. It was reddish/blackish, and it matched my enchanted Daedric bow, and it's pissing me off that I can't find it again. Anyone have any idea what I'm talking about? When you search for "dragonscale" on Skyrimnexus, it's not one of the results that comes up, but I can't remember how to search for it now. Thanks in advance.

I posted a reply on the textures thread, but I had exactly the same experience. Similar system, too, except my 2500k is running at stock, and I have a 560ti/1GB. Very smooth, and I do think it's a decent improvement in the appearance of the world.

Just triggered the dragons, this time at level 40. First at the western tower dragon was named and looked to be elder-level. Nice fight still without a companion (may get Illia again soon). The dragon actually did the bite-and-toss move on one of my dremora lords. Very cool.

that dragon is always named, I think. I just went through it on my wuss mage at master difficulty, level 8 at the time, and it was a named dragon.

Elder color, but he wasn't very strong. :\

I remember getting owned about 10 times int hat fight with my first character, all mele (that was before I learned how to block with a shield, hehe).

this little mage with his novice destructo skills had little problem on one fight.

of course, I've also since learned to use potions since that time quite early in my previous play through. :p

Anybody else having this issue?

I'm transferring the save games from my laptop to my desktop and when I try to load them I get a "This save relies on content that is no longer present. Some objects may no longer be available". It loads but I haven't tried to play any after that, don't want to waste my time. From googleing it sounds like an issue with mods but I'm using the workshop mods from Steam only and they sync every time I start the game so they are exactly the same between the two computers. For now I'll just stick to my laptop.

Working as intended. Ignore the message and carry on.

I have a quick question for those starting out with Destruction mages. What spells do you tend to use after the "starter" spells? Also are you guys using companions immediately or just going it on your own. I wanted to start out primarily Destruction and then eventually ease into conjuration.

Best destruction after novice spells are the basic fire bolt, ice shard, lighting bolt.

Beyond that you better have some items that reduce destruction costs cuz you cant have enough mana to fight with spells constantly.

Its also best to pick one element and then shove perks into boosting it. I like shock cuz it has most of the instant hit spells, which is essential against dragons.

Cloak and the others arent too useful. Walls are OK again if you can reduce destruction costs. Just keep casting them around your enemies and they die quickly. Like a slightly stronger version of the novice spray spells. Dont actually use them as a wall. Enemies pass right through and take minimal damage.

Rune spells are tough to use unless you keep swapping between invisibility and the rune.
Enemies have a tendency to rush at you and trip the spell when you are standing near it.

I've never been able to get invisibility to work. Once I'm detected I can never go hidden or invisible again, no matter what (have 100 sneak and all the perks, not even wearing any armor).

I miss chameleon.
