^ Why bother with the shield anyway? Dual weapon wielding rocks:thumbsup:

I tend to switch back and forth, but I stick with shield 90% of the time. I like being able to stagger opponents and shut down mages quickly. Also, a bit higher survivability.

At this point in my character's life, I've been able to kill just as quickly with one bash then power strike as I am with a dual wield attack--though I only have 1 of 3 perks invested in dual wield.

You really need to go all the way, you'll be surprised.

I'm a battlemage, but I'm starting to tip past 50% and I find myself using swords more than spells these days. Nonetheless, dual wielding may be a bit more than I need/want with my character. I'm only even considering a shield because I was mentally planning out the last couple dozen perks that I'll be able to get before I'm at max (I'm mid 40's now).

The one bad part about being an uber powered destructo mage is that nothing can get close enough for me to power up my armor and block skills.

I just stand there.

Do you level up Armor faster if you are fully covered or with just one piece?

I guess I assumed that you suffer location-based hits. Therefore, being fully covered would increase the odds that the hit would land on armor (and, thus, level you up) instead of on skin (doing nothing more than costing you HP).

yeah, it seems to me that it is location based--I've gone through most of my time with full heavy, but very recently (b/c I'm doing Brotherhood/Thief quests) I'm running around with Heavy armor (Boethiah's ebony mail) and light hood/arms/boots (Nightingale mask + Ebony Mail = sick).

Anyhoo, I've noticed that I'm getting tons of increases to my light skill now, and very little, if any to heavy. I've taken this to mean that the majority of hits are probably coming in on my head--which is odd. You'd expect that armor takes precedence over head.

Of course, my heavy armor is upwards of 87 or something, and light is around level 30-40? Probably a bad way to do this analysis, as heavy will level much slower right now.

Yeah it's going to barely level at all up once you get up there.

After 112 hours I finally beat the main quest.
Not quite as epic as I was hoping for. Too many dragons. Fighting another one for the finale didnt seem too special.

Better than Oblivion though, running interference and watching someone else kill the bad guy.
Of course, they did a better job of building up the awesome to that grand finale.

Thought about starting a new game, or completing leftover quests with the old character. Then I realized after grinding away all this time, I dont particularly give a crap.

Am done. May start another character this summer, AFTER I lose some damn weight. I need to be more active in general and the computer aint helping me at all.

Will likely play on hard with an orc mage NOT using destruction. Thats about as tough as it can get I think.

Well, thanks for letting me know what the final quest involves. ;).

I know have been pondering about this since yesterday. Anybody knows how doing the Civil War quests before the main questline in-turn effects the main quests? It might change the way main quests in some way, if so how?

bump again, because I've been wondering about this myself.

Finally completed A night to Remember and got rid of that fucking alto wine.
216 bottles.

PSA: You can go through food quickly if you rapidly tap the left mouse button and E key.
Towards the end of the game I stopped caring about elswyr fondue and horker stew. Potions are better.

I don't think it matters, on my current play through I did the whole set of Imperial quests.

Season Unending
is the only quest in the main line that is affected by it (iirc) and that is only if you have not finished choosing a side or gotten to a certain point.

Hey Raven, did you test your Mods Pack with 1.4? Is it still working awesome like before? I simply ask because I had to reinstall Skyrim yesterday and lost my savegame (level 38 Nord :( dammit).

So can I still drag&drop the pack in your OP?

Good to know this actually. Nevertheless, I decided to do the remaining Main quests that I had not done. (I'm done with the Companions Quests, College of Winterhold quests, Thieves Guild quests and Dark Brotherhood quests). I'll go about doing the Civil War questline after I'm done with the Main questline in totality.

P.S. Thanks zinfamous for bumping my post, finally got to know from Doublejr how doing the CW quests before affects the Main quests.

Potions are better, but vegetable stew and beef stew are worth having a few on you for the stamina buff. Since they give you a constant stream of stamina that gets around the 'if you are at 0 stamima you have to wait before it starts to regen' they allow you to power attack constantly, and sprint a lot more as well.

Food has a constant effect throughout the game, so early when your alchemy skill sucks and you havent collected many ingredients anyway its a great way to stay alive and maxed out in dungeons. Eventually you will enchant some armor to avoid most effects and your restoration skill will be quite high, so food is pretty much only good for money.
Or if you dont need money just pig out like a fat ass American.

I guess I should look into that, as I have a giant pile of untouched edibles. I was looking at my stats the other day:

Days passed: 220
Days as a werewolf: 215 (odd, didn't think I did that so quickly--and I've only changed into werewolf once)
Hours slept: 22
Hours spent waiting: 200something. (rofl at those 2 numbers)
Food consumed: 8 lbs (don't remember how this is calculated, but I know I haven't eaten anything since ~those first days, heh)

The big difference is that early game, I pretty much walked everywhere, then realized I could take that cart to a new hold that I haven't explored (I avoided this, as I preferred that they open up as I approached--but places like Winterhold and Dawnstar were just too freaking far at the time)

So, much more fast travel from place to place and hours sat spent waiting for the proper time as I got further along.
