Yeah good idea about changing the difficulty.

What I might do this playthrough is complete the main quest ASAP and then take my sweet time exploring the world.

That way i'll actually have a shot at completing the main quest and know what's this all about and after that, just roam the lands and have fun.

If you read a few posts above you'll notice I installed both and that's when the problem happened but the branches stay flat even with the Skyrin Flora Overhaul disabled in the Steam mod list.

I installed Skyrim Flora Overhaul Summer Edition 1dot5c Hi-Res from this page http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/141 . Maybe I need the Skyrim Flora Overhaul v15a Hi-Res version just below it instead (or with it)? I did not know as there is no description.
I don't know what did that Dennil, I'm using Trees HD and Vurt's Flora and I don't have that issue. Face2Face may be right; it could be a compatibility issue with the version of Lush Trees you have installed (I don't use Lush Trees, which explains why I wouldn't have the same LOD issues). Did you read the installation instructions for Flora Overhaul and Trees HD?

OK, just went to the Nexus and it looks like you need a compatibility patch to make Lush Trees work with Flora Overhaul. You can find it on the download page here. There is also an enhanced LOD tree file available on the Flora Overhaul downloads section, but he lists it as "untested" so YMMV. I don't know if you'll need to do Lush Trees through NMM to get the compatibility patch to work. Try that out and see if it fixes things.

For the record, here's how mine looks (without Lush Trees, hence the sparseness of branches):

OK. I installed the Lush Trees patch before reading your post (we be cross-posting) (found in the files section of that mod page) that is supposed to make it play nice with Flora Overhaul (all it is are two pine tree nifs) but the trees still look like this. :(

Maybe the foliage is too thick in the branches and it merges at a distance so as too look like broad 'palms' instead of needly branches. I'm going to bed. Gonna try using Lush Trees 1.3 tonight or removing it altogether. Worst come to worst, I'll re-install the hgame (or is there a way in Steam to take it back to all default, with the file integrity checker maybe?). Gonna try also installing the non-summer version of Flora Overhaul and see if that fixes things.

It used to be that you could verify integrity of game cache and that would do it, but I don't know how that affects mods in the Steam Workshop. You may need to delete all the folders in the Data folder, along with any ESP, BSA or ESM files you installed, and then verify the integrity of the game cache. Or, worst case scenario, uninstall completely and reinstall.

Here you can see the difference between Lush Trees and Trees HD nifs. Maybe if I just delete the tree nifs in my steam Skyrim data folder.

I'll still try what I said just above before resorting to this.

Which one is actually set to load though? They both have treepineforest02.nif and treepineforest04.nif, so there's a conflict there. The game will only load one of each. That's my favorite part of the TPC; it sorts everything for you and completely removes any of these conflicts so you don't have to try to sort out which file should be loaded last. But if you only want to use Skyrim HD2K, the TPC won't work for you (it requires Skyrim Realistic Overhaul and Skyrim HD Retexture as well).

I copied Trees HD last to my Skyrim data folder so its 02 & 04 replaced the Lush Trees 02 & 04 (remember, I have installed my mods manually). I should back up my whole data folder each time. Used to do this with Oblivion but I got lax with Skyrim.

The load order is confusing reading the mod author's descriptions on Nexus, but it sounds like you need to do Vurt's Flora Overhaul first, then do the meshes and some textures from TreesHD, and install Lush Trees and the compatibility patch last. So try reinstalling Lush Trees and the compatibility patch now.

You might also doublecheck your tree LOD values in SkyrimPrefs.ini. Look for the line:

fTreesMidLODSwitchDist=

The Lush Trees author recommends a value above 20000. He also says he has his set to 9999999, but it seems like that might cause some slowdown. If none of that fixes the problem, I think you're going to have to start from scratch.

-EDIT- And why aren't you using a mod manager to do this for you? That makes everything so much easier.

I see Hearthfire is on Steam for $4.99. Not sure this really interests me, though it would be nice to have an arcane enchanter accessible. Right now I go to dragonsreach every time I want to do something.

It's only $5

I am installing it now. I have been waiting to build my own pad..

Anyone has any tricks to reduce the image noise (hard to explain...wavy shadow like lines that move/disappear as you approach them)?
It's pretty disturbing and annoying...it's not everywhere but mainly visible on light colored uniform surfaces like roads/rocks/ground...mostly during day...

Run 16x Anisotropic Filtering; that will help stop some of the texture fade-in at close distances. The shadows in this game are a mess, all blocky and pixelated and they cause weird texture shimmer at times. You can use an ENB config which will change how shadows are processed, but it's not compatible with your other lighting mod. You can try changing some values in your SkyrimPrefs and see if that fixes things. Here's a write-up HardOCP did on tweaking back when Skyrim came out; some of it might be out of date, but some of it is still useful, and may help with the shadow issues.

I'm already at 16xAF.
It's not really shadows (and yeah I know shadows are a mess in this game)...it's really hard to explain and can't really be seen on a screenshot.

Around and close to my character it's ok but it's on the distance and when I approach it's disappearing gradually...damn it's hard to explain. :p

Do these trees looks any better to you? I went ahead and installed the NON Summer Flora mod and installed Lush trees 1.3 instead of 1.4. I patched the HDTrees as well with the Flora patch.

I found that changing my enb got rid of those for me. try 1.3

have any of you run the TPC with the Towns and Villages (T.A.V.E.) mods?

-Luke

Good question. I use detailed cities and detailed outskirts with TPC and they work fine. I see that T.A.V.E does re-texture in some areas. I would say try it, but it may be a pain deleting it if it causes a texture mess.

I will say that I have installed mods that re-texture watery rocks and flora over the TPC and it never messes up the textures, it just replaces them as far as I could tell. Not sure if it has to do with load order or not?

I use Steam to install all of the gameplay mods and NMM to use the TPC. I find it easier because not all mods install correctly with the NMM and with Steam they do.

Question for anyone who has the TPC mod. I purchased Hearthfire yesterday ( Yes it's awesome) I had to go to Falkreath to purchase my lot and spoke to the steward ( Can't remember her name?) I noticed her clothes looks horrible and were very low resolution. Everyone else had high resolution apparel accept for this broad. Any ideas or mods you could recommend. I assume this is the case with other NPC's as well who wear this type of clothing.

Did you try out Hearthfire yet? Did it break anything?

Hearthfire is butter----- It's pretty freaking awesome for $5. I built up my place last night and took all of my items from Markarth and Whiterun chest's and brought them to my newly constructed house (Jump on a horse and fast travel or walk very slowly). I have a steward, but no kids yet. I have my armory fully upgraded in the house and it looks awesome. I will say there is a lot to build and a lot of materials that are needed.

The TPC only made things look better.
