Gary was using the 96.94 drivers, which don't require nTune, and I think I read that one of the other review sites was using Power strip and/or ATI Tool (not ATI Tray Tools). Possibly, the order in which you do things has an effect. When I initially got nTune 5.05, I installed it and the CP didn't show anything about gpu overclocking at first. So I uninstalled them, ran coolbits, and re-installed nTune, which let me OC the gpu. However, the detect optimum frequencies option seems to crash.Originally posted by: nib95
I have yes, but NTune is still blanked out.
What is the best second option for OC'ing?
thanks for the response...Originally posted by: Gary Key
I just used the official 5.05 release, having the same lock issue on optimal overclock detect settings but my screen seems to be pale blue. 😉 I also found some issues with it changing FSB settings on the 680i. I will try a clean image shortly but right now I have a message into NVIDIA about it.
You probably have a nicer screen than my Dell 2005FPW, so we'll call it blue from now on 🙂
Are you able to monitor gpu temps...? From the CP, if I select the option to monitor temps it moves me over to the 'Performance' (nTune) section, and when I click on the GPU portion of that I get the sliders to OC and another slider to adjust fan speed, but no kind of temp gauge or anything like that. I really kind of liked the little graph they had put into the new CP.
