I will be furiously hitting refresh on this page and this page beginning at 7:30pm.

I've already been hitting up the Macallan 12--I'm hoping tonight I can move on to the older stuff. There's also a slight chance I may be drinking straight Everclear tonight.

I guess I'll have to transition my Official Election Night to this thread - even though this isn't based on election night.....

That's right folks. It's election night - what better way to prepare then to bust out the drinks ahead of time.

This thread is a placeholder for discussing the election results as the polls close later today.

Pictures of what you are drinking is highly encouraged.

First up - post your favorite sources for watching tonight.... And your drinks if you're bold enough be day-drinking.

Bold isn't the first descriptor that comes to mind for day drinking.

Meh, day drinking just means it puts me to sleep and I'll be dozing off by 7-9 o'clock.

Also if anyone has any good drinking games for tonight - feel free to post them up. Similar to debates, I'm sure our candidates will be up on stage spewing some malarky ;)

Get to drinking and kick things off. Show us some pics.

My wife has some bottles of sparkling wine chilling in case there is cause to celebrate. Otherwise I might have to shake up a slightly dirty gin martini.

At least we can agree on beer. I am a big fan of Imperial stouts. I might have to hop on Tavour and see what I can have delivered tonight because that looks good.

I was just about to build a new keezer before corvid hit and now finding a chest freezer is impossible. Until I can, brewing my own beer is on hold.

Your Tavour can be delivered tonight?

All I get with Tavour is their "box delivery" where you add stuff to the box for a month or 2 and then they ship it all out at once. Takes a good amount of time (and money, christ).... but I enjoy Tavour because it gets me beers that aren't sold in my state.

But definitely check out Prairie - They are out of Oklahoma and they are BIG on high ABV stouts. Very tasty and potent.

I thought they added same day but just checked and nope. I knew I had some decent beer same day delivered and it was form Total Wine. At least the one here has a great selection. they will same day deliver for anyone who is under strict about quarantining.

Will for sure check out Prairie.

I got some Tito's ready to mix with a blend of tonic and seltzer. Ordering some Singapore style Hainanese Chicken Rice, then firing up the PS4 and launching Apex Legends so I don't turn on the tv and just check my phone in between matches.

I can see Biden potentially being a one-term President before packing it in to make way for Harris to run, but to speak of the 25th amendment given the state of the current incumbent is clearly in bad-faith. Biden's old and not very dynamic, but all this conservative talking-point stuff of him being too decrepit for the job is so obviously pure projection. Trump is clearly a physical and mental wreck.

Well there is this:

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi held a press conference to discuss this topic Friday. But it wasn’t to make any actual attempt to remove President Donald Trump’s powers.

Rather, Pelosi was promoting a bill sponsored by Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD), which, if signed into law, would create a new bipartisan commission that could, if the vice president agrees, declare the president unable to serve.

Pelosi described this as a general good government reform proposal for the future, saying it is “not about President Trump,” whom she said will “face the judgment of the voters.” Indeed, there’s no chance this bill will be passed or signed into law this year. For now, it’s just an idea.

It’s weird that you’re justifying your vote for Trump based on the fact that you don’t understand how the 25th amendment works, lol. It would be impossible for Congress to dump Biden for Harris unless Republicans join with Democrats to do this.

I don't have to "justify anything".

I understand how the 25th amendment works.

Lol it is abundantly clear that you do not. If you do, I would love to hear the process by which you think Pelosi is going to remove Biden against his will using the 25th.

I think it's wrong to put Trump back in office but your vote is your vote.

I think it is wrong for a party to take advantage of a man suffering with mental issues as Joe is obviously having problems.

It is my opinion that if elected he will not last a full year before he is out of office either by forced out ( 25th ) or bailing out for health issues.

So that's her evil plan to get rid of Biden? LOL

Your avatar is still perfect.
Our resident 25th amendment expert Pcgeek’s scholarship apparently didn’t get to the part about what happens if the president says ‘lol no, I’m fine.’
