Tonight's episode was hilarious, but they're going a bit overboard with Michael's stupidity and narcissism

Have you, by any chance, seen the UK version? Its "Michael" (David Brent) is easily 10x worse than Michael Scott.....god the things he says.

And the UK's version of Packer provides what could possibly be classified as the most awkward scenes ever

ricky gervais is my hero

Just saw it on the west coast. That episode sucked =(

I thought it was a good episode.

Did you think it sucked as an episode or that it sucked b/c Roy was gonna be pouring some syrup on some pamcakes? 😀

Probably. Man, sucks for Jim. Why doesn't the Office get a separate for each episode like the other TV shows?

? is the word thread supposed to be inserted in there somewhere?

Not sure about going too far about Michaels narcissism....my boss is not too far off and this episode reminded me of how he was at a co-workers wedding last year.

Especially, "I pay her salary, so it's like I am paying for the wedding"

Another great episode.
Yep.

Loved Jim's vampire symptoms that Dwight fell for. When Jim left for the day and popped the color on his coat it made it look just like a vampire's cloak. 😛

the last line was great. "It is a message. It is an inspiration. It is a source of beauty. And without paper, it could not have happened. Unless...you had a camera." 😀

oh wow.......this was one of the best episodes of the series.

the full circle with Pam and Michael making a final connection....that was one of the most heartwarming moments in TV i've seen in a LONG time. the parallel between Michael and the business school kids, and Pam and the other art work, was brilliant. Pam's meager artwork was gut wrenching as you saw Pam finally putting herself on the line. when Michael was defending Dunder Mifflin to those B-school know-it-alls, i went from laughing at Michael's ineptitude to rooting Michael on. when Pam and Michael hugged......that was like a father/daughter tear-jerking moment. and then Pam saying, "is there something in your pocket?", to which Michael says, "Chunky." GOLD.

there are sitcoms where you just laugh at trivial moments and then you're done watching. but, tonight's episode of The Office did an unbelievable job of making you feel closer to the characters.

OK... what was up when Pam and Michael were sharing a hug over him complimenting her artwork and she asked him if he had something in his pocket? :Q

Was that supposed to be what I thought it was?

So what do you think it meant?

It ended up being a cookie, but when she first said it I thought Michael got sprung just by hugging her or maybe got a boner over her art. 😛

Classic Dwight line - it had me rolling.

I'm confused. What happened with Michael and Pam? Why's it a full circle and final connection? I'm surprised Jim didn't show up at the art show.

that was the brilliance.......i'm guessing that everyone (including myself) expected Jim to come and there to be some romantic kindling. michael coming was out of no where and i think it made the episode.

and yes, i thought Michael had sported wood because of the extended hug between them. i thought it was a "is that a cookie in your pocket or are you just glad to see me?" moment.

BRILLIANT!
we think alike!

I was wondering, did Pam feel Roy was faking his interest in her artwork (that's why she didn't want to go home with him)?

They always throw those little Michael moments in there so that you really like him. Even though he is a terrible boss in that he is not politically correct, hardly ever works, throws parties all day - He redeems himself b/c he cares about his employees like they are his family. He tries to boost moral and throws parties. So just when you think, "Man, I'd hate to have Michael for a boss, he is a total moron", he shows that he cares and you think, "Man, I'd like to have Michael for a boss b/c he cares about people and not just about the almighty dollar".

Plus Jim and Dwight are hilarious

I'm a bit late for this week, but here are my thoughts. I loved this recent episode, one of my favorites of the season. They should let Joss Whedon come back and direct another. 🙂

Does anyone think Roy is just being nice and all just to get in her pants? Last week's episode, with not recognizing that Phyllis stole Pam's stuff for the wedding and then this week where he just shows up, looks at all the artwork and like a kid, asks Pam if he can go. I thought he had changed...?

I noticed there was no interaction between Pam and Jim, which is very strange. I wonder if even Jim knew about Pam's participation in the art show. BTW, if you watch the deleted scenes, Karen apparently did not want Jim to go. :/

ok, last weeks episode.....

Ryan's punishment, I thought Michael said he was sending him to the annex?

what the heck is that?

and why was Kelly so excited about it?

I don't remember exactly, but I believe that's right where Kelly sits. So in a sense, it's punishment for Ryan and pure joy for Kelly.

Right, he can't stand to be near her. Remember when he wouldn't give Jim back his old deck?

They are still dating, but he can't stand her, and cannot gets the balls to break up with her. 😀

So what happened to Andy? He punched the wall, then disappeared, now Dwight has his old desk back after coming back.

i think the story is that Andy is away at anger management training. apparently this was made clear on a cut/alternate scene on the NBC website (although i haven't seen it).

presumably, he will return and they'll mine Dwight taking Andy's desk for comedy, especially with Andy trying to use his new anger management coping techniques.
