Your claim of "It's not enough time for us to post! :( How much time is the minimum required! :(" is the silliness here.

Why people's posting habits should be the same today as they were on an arbitrary day in the past is simply beyond me. As we've already seen in this thread, I'm an awfully good example of that.

EDIT: This has to be the dumbest argument I've ever had on here, and that says a lot. I'm not going to bother to defend people I don't know's posting habits against ridiculous charges of hypocrisy based upon what threads they decide to post in and when. You're more than welcome to think that these people are hypocrites based upon this if you want, but I'm just telling you and CC that your position is dumb.

You're reaching now, and it's quite evident. They're lurking, and their posting habits haven't been any different than when Bush was doing this, yet today all of their posting habits magically changed in a flash. Right!

You guys are asking me to comment on the posting habits of people I don't know within a small time frame. Just what do you expect me to say? I made a perfectly reasonable response to JD50 on the issue and you decided to flip out anyway. This is because you're not here to actually talk about things, you're just here to fight.

Not only that, every thread on this very topic (Obama continuing Bush defense/security policy) it's exactly the same - they're silent. Or instead of frothy mouthed venom it's more of a "I don't quite like this so much".

Well Glenn Greenwald (a well known liberal blogger) seems pretty outraged.
The Huffington Post doesn't seem too happy either.

How many more links from leftist blogs and sites would you like? They most certainly ARE attacking Obama over this, hard.

And no, it is not something that only the left should be attacking Obama over. Since the right seems to take as one of its founding principles that of individual liberty and excessive government control, well.... doesn't this seem to be an attack on individual liberty through government control?

Rather the the public figures, a better measure is of the P&N posters that continually lambasted Bush for these same policies.

It is those posters that are conspicuously absent when Obama continues the same policies that people through fits over.

Looking in the mirror becomes embarrassing.

Don't you think requiring people to respond within 3 hours of a thread being posted is a little silly? (not to mention the right wing circle jerk about nobody answering actually started about 2 minutes after it was posted). If I didn't have the flu today I wouldn't have even had a chance to look at this until about 3PM west coast time, so I would be one of those 'conspicuously absent'.

If this was a Bush thread, you, Harvey, Craig, Phokus, heyheybooboo, and the rest of the Democrat circle jerk would have been here within 3 minutes, let alone 3 hours.

Hop off the cross buddy, nobody is buying the act.

With special guest appearances from jpeyton and ZeGermans as well, no doubt.

I like what another poster said -- it is likely that once Obama was elected, he had access to the same information Bush did and saw that Bush had valid reasons for some of his policies.

Except the fact that your argument is that I am "just here to fight", when in fact, I was posting in this thread discussing things before you even posted in this thread, making your accusation...:Q...baseless!

You realize that your initial post in this thread called out the people on the left here, calling them hypocrites...right? How could that not be encouraging a fight?

You're self owning again.

No. I was making an observation; the same observation many others have made in this very thread.

Again, you still try and act like I'm the only one who made this observation.

Psst...the only self-owning going on in this thread is you.

I don't think that phrase means what you think it means.

I'm done with this, you're simply not a rational person. I'll revisit this thread tomorrow when I get off of work, and we'll see.

The irony of your posts is delicious. You came into this thread on page two trying to be the martyr from the "rational" left who were up in arms against Bush about this, but the very same left is notably absent and/or muted when Obama continues the very same policies.

I thought you weren't responding to my posts anyway? Or was that Craig? I can't remember any more... ;)

Actually this is kind of smart.

The right-leaning posters hit the thread first, calling out lefties for not condemning Obama quickly enough, ensuring that by the time the left does get here and post criticisms, it will be seen more as token gestures than legit outrage.

Lefties take the bait because they're morons and don't point out that righties should be high-fiving Obama's 'tough' stance on terrorism if *they* want to be consistent.

Problem is, this dumb argument over 'timing' has actually prevented discussion of the topic at hand so there's even less actual criticism of Obama, even when he deserves it.

On topic: Obama needs to get asked, to his face, wtf he is doing. Fox News would actually be up to this particular task quite well. I want to hear a direct response.

The bolded part will never happen, though it should. Obama won't talk to Fox News because they are "out to get him", and the state-run mainstream media would never dare ask such a direct question of him.

The state-run media would phrase the "question" something like this:

State-run media talking head: "President Obama, you have no other choice but to continue the Bush detention policies because Bush screwed everything up, right?"

Obama reply: Sorry, the teleprompter doesn't seem to be functioning properly at the moment. I will have to get back to you on that.

LOL you believed in Obama's change! The majority of the people who voted on the 4th of November last year believed in "change", which merely affirms the fact that the majority of people are just stupid.

Like the Bush administration, the Obama administration argues that the legal basis for indefinite detention of aliens it considers dangerous is separate from war-crimes prosecutions.

That's the most retarded thing I've ever heard. What are they actually guilty of, then, that requires their detention? I can minimally understand continuing to detain them because no other country will take them back - but as a temporary measure until a solution for their exit is found. Not this "guilty of nothing but still dangerous" bullshit. How does anyone of moral value defend that?

Partially true, is it not? If Mr. Bush's administration wasn't responsible for landing those non-guilty detainees in their cells - thereby screwing up - there would have been nothing to continue.

I hope most people are starting to see that Democrats and Republicans are two sides of the same coin and nothing will ever truly "change" until we vote these leeches out of office.

Good luck with that. Read through a majority of the threads in here, it all reads R talking point, D counter. D talking point, R counter. There are a few people in here who think for themselves, but the majority don't do much more than regurgitate the agenda of the week from there preferred political affiliation.

Who would have ever guessed that he would lie/deceive/change his mind on so many platform promises/campaign statements/debate rhetoric once he was elected.

Nope, never saw that one coming from your traitor in chief.
