I just wanted to confirm that I am avoiding it and for that reason. I don't know the subject and I don't want to find out and have to deal with it. I am a coward and don't like the smell of it.
The subject is "your president is a disaster".

Actually I think the subject is "Obama is enforcing a policy we don't like". With the exception of his civil liberties policies his presidency has been excellent so far. You are so happy with this thread that you remind me of Joe Dirt finding the 'meteor'. This thread makes you look every bit as bad as anyone who refused to post in it. (in many ways worse) You haven't figured out you're lugging a turd around with you yet.

I too would like to know when Obama and the rest of his CRIMINAL CABAL OF TRAITORS AND LIARS will answer for these obvious crimes. Obama and the ENTIRE OBAMAWHACKO ADMINISTRATION must answer!!!:Q:frown::disgust:😕🙁:Q:thumbsdown:

Hmm, let's go through a checklist of complaints about Bush:

- Spent like a drunken sailor - Obama makes him look like a miser
- Spies on US citizens, check
- Is killing civilians in Iraq, check. Withdrawing at the same timeline as Bush proposed
- Is killing civilians in Afghanistan, check. Gonna kill even more than Bush.
- Is killing civilians in Pakistan, check.
- Gitmo - shut it down? Well...sort of...not really...
- Is rewarding those on wall-street for failure - check
- North Korea? Out of control, zero progress
- Iran? Zero progress

So basically he reversed torture, which I for the most part agree with. He isn't raiding MMJ clinics, which I totally agree with. Other than that, I'm not seeing much difference, and a few things quite worse.

Want to show me a major policy reversal outside of torture? Bring it on 😉

Is he very early in office? Yes, but there's a lot he could have done that he hasn't, and a lot what he has done has either been inconsequential, ineffective (to date), or outright disastrous for our future.

So yup, he's Disaster part duex so far.

No matter how many times you are corrected, you continue to make the same false claims.

1.) False. The primary complaint of the left was the TARGET of Bush's spending (ie: tax cuts for the rich), not that he was spending money.
2.) Half true. Bush created an entire network of spying programs, some of which were almost certainly horrifically unconstitutional. Some of these programs were shut down, some were not... and Obama has continued those that were not.
3.) Laughably false. Withdrawing in a similar manner as Bush planned is so far from the same as Bush (considering he STARTED it, genius) that it's not even on the same planet.
4.) False. The left is generally supportive of action in Afghanistan as is the rest of the country. Complaint not found.
5.) False. Bush created the prison at Gitmo, Obama is trying to shut it down. While I hate Obama's detainee policy as much as I hate Bush's, on Gitmo they are most certainly not the same.
6.) Huh? The Wall St. bailout was enacted during Bush's presidency.
As for the last two... all I can say is: 'Huh?' The guy has been in office 6 months and you want him to have disarmed Iran and North Korea. God you're a tool.

As for major policy reversals outside of torture, sure. Stem cell research (opposed by Bush). Classification of CO2 as a pollutant (opposed by Bush). Vast increase in CAFE standards (opposed by Bush). Lilly Ledbetter Act (opposed by Bush), expansion of SCHIP and basically his whole approach to health care. (opposed by Bush).

I would write more, but you've already gotten more than you deserve.

Ohh.. so Obama's doubling of the national debt is good because its going to the 'right people'? Whew.. I was worried about how we would pay for it, but at least since its going to the right people I'm not worried now. Thanks. And as long as the left has been supportive of the slaughter of innocents in Afghanistan I guess thats fine too.

no they're not, that's why they are fighting the Taliban and Al Qeada. And now the leader of the Afghani Taliban is looking to negotiate a peace deal. Don't know what will come of that but at least it's a marked improvement from..well you know.

You misunderstand me. The above post was meant to lampoon a certain poster and in no way was meant to degrade our troops or their contribution. For the record, I don't agree with the Iraq War and never have, and it is a tragedy so many of our people were lost. You will never hear me defend Bush over it, or quite frankly, much of anything.

Remember when Moonbeam was ripping on Kerry because he voted for the Iraq war? Then he "flip flopped" once he became the nominee?

Of course, he has gushed on Obama for the past year, now he finds Obama is just a shade of grey away from bush. Of course, he's the lesser of two evils, that's how he lives with himself.

Too bad Ron Paul was such a fruitcake.

Honestly I think by 2008 there was nothing either person could do. Whether Bush is in office now still or Obama, Iraq would be ending the same way. Had this been 2006, we would've seen something different perhaps, but I think it's pretty clear at this point Iraq is a done deal for anyone unless someone throws us a curveball.

Bush's agreed deadline for the withdrawal of US combat troops was the end of 2011. Obama's deadline for the withdrawal of US combat troops is August 2010. That's a difference of 14 months, or about 77% longer under Bush than Obama.

Please do try to keep up. Like I said, you're embarrassing yourself.

After what he did to our country every patriotic American should.

The powerful do not give up their power. The presidency has become immensely powerful, more so, I should think, than the designers of our government could possibly conceive. No man, or woman, is going to step into the Oval Office and give up any of that power, no matter how odious its application might be.

Right wing authoritarians are almost all singing the Emperor's praises every time he "punches a Hippie" by defending, extending or utilizing some of the novel Imperial powers of the Presidency discovered during the Bush Regime or every time he backs away from some silly campagin promise or other.

We've all noticed how Obama seems far more interested in placating his political opponents every time he gets a chance, so there are many opportunities for Hippie punching by the Obama White House. Since the "Left" (quote/unquote) doesn't fight back effectively, one can assume this will go on indefinitely.

It's Obama's revelation that his predecessor's use of the new, improved presidential powers involved such blatantly un-American (and anti-American) incidents such as the Abu Ghraib abuse, but then nobody said wielding power would be easy on the conscience.

One can only fantasize, of course, about the president issuing fiats that, oh, I don't know, repeal DOMA, void the blanket amnesty granted to telecom companies that violated their customer's privacy rights, or, having a real doozy here...holding Congress responsible for letting the executive branch get so obscenely powerful in the first place.

I think we are being continually reminded that Obama is simply unwilling, or unable, to take on a fight with his political enemies, preferring to take the path of least resistance. He is playing his supporters on the balance scale against them. How much can he satisfy his supporters while simultaneously not riling his opponents? Behind this lies some kind of poorly understood power wielding (threats?) by establishment forces demanding the preservation of their privelege, wealth, influence, and status.

And I guess I'll have to mark this thread for 12 months, 20 days from now. Which is probably how long I'll have to keep bumping it before jpeyton, phokus, techs, and harvey post in it.

Obama's deadline was when he was a candidate for the opposition.

Obama's deadline was when he was a candidate for the opposition.

He thought he was a candidate in February of 2009? News to me.

So he has US troops ending combat in August 2010, with all troops gone by the end of 2011. Bush, on the other hand had no such plans, and would only agree to an 'aspirational goal' of having US combat troops out by the end of 2011. Obama's change from when he was a candidate is that he delayed his withdrawal plan by 3 months.

To alchemize: What you were probably confusing is that Bush and Obama both wanted to remove US troops from Iraqi cities at the same time. That's only one part of two significantly different plans for withdrawal. Once again, comparing the guy who started this war and the guy who opposed it from the beginning is absolutely ridiculous.

Guess I'll put your latest post in the 'didn't admit he was wrong and attempted to deflect to other posters' category.
