I used HwMonitor which has almost the same temps as RMClock.
What temperatures should my L7400 be running at (without undervolting)?

Well, my T8300 is running at 35-40C idle and 52C load. You can google for exact temps for your L7500, but I don't think it should be much higher than mn T8300.

When you set it to performance on demand, did you check ALL of the multiplier boxes? If you didn't, you are basically limiting the multi to only the ones you have chosen.

Also, have you benchmarked it in Orthos overnight to make sure it's stable at the lower voltages?

#1 Yes. all multipliers are enabled. The lowest already was set to the lowest Voltage.
#2 Ran Orthos for 2 hours. You are not supposed to run it longer on laptops (see the guide on NBR forums). It was rock stable. I do NOT get stuttering when I view the videos without RMClock but with the CPU limited through power management to the lowest multiplier. I DO get the stuttering when I have RMClock running and it is limited to the lowest multiplier (where I can not change the voltage).

Hmm that is a strange issue...I've personally never experienced that, so you should post on NBR forum or send a PM to the author of the guide flipfire about your situation.

cant get it to work on 64bit vista....says the RMclock isn't digitally signed and cant find the 64bit driver

centrino hardware control works very well also, if it works on your notebook. I have been underclocking my laptop for years, getting 4 to 5 hours of life out if it. it will also set spin down and acoustic management settings for hard drives. a very useful tool.

I got decent results from RMClock on my C2D L7500. I set everything to be 0.9v, which unfortunately is the lowest it would let me go. It was stable for 12hrs under prime95. I'm doing this under Vista. Max temp used to be 87c, now it's 72c.

Unfortunately since the processor supports low freq multiplier for super low speeds and the lowest voltage I can set in RMClock is 0.9v, it doesn't really save power when it's in superlfm mode since 0.9v is probably higher than the system uses. My power usage is slightly higher when idling now.

I have a gateway M-153Xl with a t8300 penryn

The latest version of Rm Clock does not identify my cpu, it says unknown for CPU core and Revision Name, what is wrong?
Cpu type is checked as mobile.

EDIT - Latest HMonitor gives incorrect temps, something like 5C idle for both core..
Same thing and temps for Core Temp version 0.99.5

i've posted two tools that are similar to rmclock but for netbooks in my sticky. eeectl tool and a1ctl. if you have an eee or acer then maybe give one of those a try

I'll try eeectl again, I didn't know it controls voltage too.

I'm looking through the settings.ini (eeectl) and I only see a low or normal setting for voltage. Do the motherboards that netbooks use not have highly adjustable voltage settings?

well i've no firsthand exp using the tool, i just post info about stuff heh. sorry i cant help more than that. i do know that the chipset uses more power than the processor itself. i think the atom is 4-8w max while the chipset is 20-ish
