Our government and planet may be pretty fscked up, but it's not that fscked up. It's pretty much still just a random ball of chaos, we aren't in control of everything.
I agree that it would take some pretty weird happenings for us to turn to lab-grown meat, I just can't imagine it being cheaper than the real stuff, but whatever.. there's no reason normal farmers couldn't co-exist with synthetic meat.
There's also no way in fsck that a cure for AIDS and Cancer is being held back because it would put people out of business. Are you really that pessimistic? Do you really believe that every every research scientist on every continent is apart of this worldwide conspiracy? Wake up.
If that is true, we'd have far more problems than AIDS.
