man the packaging on this album is amazing. definitely more fun than the music.

Explain?

the album isn't in a jewel case, it's in sort of a gatefold configuration with integrated glasses to view all the 3D art.

Do you have the album? Take a look at the lens on the album, then look at the side by side double images. They appear in 3D. Takes some practice.

$9.99 at my local Best Buy for both the Tool and Pearl Jam albums. The packaging on this album does indeed rock, I haven't gotten to play with it much, went and bought it before class.

Got the Album yesterday, They are furthering the evolution from the album Lateralus; which means 10,000 days is abit above the perception of one-hit wonder loving lowbrows. You have to sit and listen to it almost compleatly to appreciate it, not just jump in, pick a rift you don't like and write it off like some swedish music loving douchebags. Some of the tracks are an absolute phenomena, but I'm not sure what to rate the album overall.

Its very interesting to note the evolution of their sound from Opiate>Undertow>Aenima>Lateralus>10,000 days. Its very gradual but I cannot say I'd trade one of those albums for any other CD in the world. I remember when I was 8 and buying Opiate(a week after release, my second CD), then undertow when I was 10, then Aenima in 7th grade with my first true girlfriend and then Lateralus my junior year... then finaly 10,000 days yesterday at bestbuy. This was all started when my uncle let me barrow a self titled tool demo he got his hands on back in 1991.

Its funny, I do not worship them, not a single poster or shirt, and I've only seen them in concert once. Just never got sick of them I guess.

Agreed. Stop fowarding tracks for a heavy riff. Sit down, relax and listen. This album is amazing.

Finally got it... Right in Two is my favorite song right now (mainly because of the lyrics)... but I'm sure that'll change.

Sorry to add to an old thread, but I felt like putting in my two cents.

When I first heard Lateralus, I HATED it. Not dislike, hate. I slowly figured it out, and now I love it as much as any other Tool album. With this album, I started out just liking it, not loving it. For me, I had to read the lyrics, and read a lot on Songmeanings.net. When I read what 10,000 Days (the song) was about and then listened to it again along with the lyrics, it made the whole song come together. The entire thing is a progression and a story in and of itself, and the lyrics, IMO, just give the listener some insight into what the song is doing.

Songs like Vicarious, Right in Two, and The Pot are just amazing by themselves, where as Rosetta Stoned and 10,000 Days take a little more listening to really appreciate. Love this album.
