it's just sampled more, you're suppose to sample at twice the frequency you want to hear, in this case i guess 24kHz.

It's supposed to be about blind faith.. he was angry that his mother still believed blindly in christianity even after 'god did this to her' aka giving her a stroke... you can tell that a lot of his anger has turned into more of an objective stance at this point on this album

i was gonna post what the idiots on songmeanings.net were saying, but they were coming up with Judith as a biblical character. also a bunch of other crap.

 
in other news, I've figured out all of 'the pot' on guitar.. adam really needs to learn how to play in other tunings besides drop D and perhaps investigate the other 4 strings on his guitar on this album 😛

That sounds very interesting, if the song relates to his mom's situation. I find that in many of the songs, Maynard is essentially expressing his attitude about God directly to him - some songs more that others. But there are always little hints.

He used B/A tuning on Parabola. But I hear ya... on this new album, it seems the guitar work is more mainstream and raw...not as many sonic treasures as in Lateralus. Everytime I listen to The Patient, I hear something new. Oh well... the bass work on the new album still sounds so great that its sick. Maynard's word pictures are incredable too.
