Oh yes...my God this is ugly.

(a) Looks extremely generic
(b) Huge waste of space everywhere (huge buttons for 'quote', large amounts of whitespace between lines, not as crisp)
(c) The pics really takes away from the professionalism. It should be limited to Camera Forums only

What fusetalk did right is how it presented itself to the user. Clean, simple, and crisp. Now seeing images of the latest interest memes everywhere, a bunch of different icons (none of which have a common style like the old icons), and huge amounts of unused space is just ridiculous.

I'm fine with switching, and I'm fine with change...but lets not get rid of that which is GOOD.

IMO to me if they just STREAMLINE and make a clean/simple design I'll enjoy it more. I don't need friggin ugly icons that say "edit" "quote" bla bla. More space for user posts, less space for other junk

this. slim it down. and please stop the forums from thanking me for everything i do.

It looks like every other flappin basic boring VB forum out there.

The two forums I frequent most, HoFo and ATOT are now pretty much indistinguishable from each other.

I always did like the inline message editing feature, though.

Who knew an "upgrade" could be 2 steps forward, and 18 steps back? I'm glad the timewarps and whatnot will be gone, but the look of everything is terrible now. The giant wastes of space, the generic look, no sidebar. Hell, there isn't ANY search now let alone the broken Fusetalk one.

It's making visiting the anandtech forums a completely unpleasant experience. I'd be curious to see the # of visitors on the forum pages each day pre and post "upgrade". My guess is it'll be down.

Thankfully they killed the descriptions on the forum listing page and switched post times from "10 minutes ago" to "Today, 10:05 AM".

Edit: It is lame that we can't tell if someone has edited a post.

but hofo is the most unorganized board around...

it has become such a pita to use with its 1000 different subforums which overlap each other 1000 times...

Those are just as shitty.

I didn't even get to look at the avatars before I posted too.
Wow.
Spiderman, a dragon or A Hummer? Awesome.
Not to mention I wonder what the legalities of having some of those copyrighted items as avatars are.

These forums used to somewhat stick out on looks alone. Professional, clean, simplified.... now it looks like any other forum on the internet that is set up by a 12yr old. Don't even get me started on embedded pictures....
I have to agree with you on that too. I noticed on BBZZDD people are already getting their witty response pictures uploaded to use here.

I think the forums need to be refined a bit more, something like this.

It def needs improvement. They need to implement a "spoiler" option for nested quotes so we don't loose everything when we quote someone. Also, get rid of all of the white space. Give us back our side bar. Why is everyone a senior member???!!!!!!

I don't give a rat's ass about the avatars. It's just about the least important feature of these forums IMO. What happened to bolding, italics, etc.?

OK, I see it's working but I had to put in the symbols myself in the brackets. Where are the buttons to do that?????? Even when I "Go Advanced" I don't see those buttons. :confused; (and I typed that in too)

Under User CP there are settings to choose which editor you can use for your posts. YOu can go full WYSIWYG.

I'm also afraid i won't be able to browse the forums at work anymore, once the posts start getting littered with retarded inline images. Any of those stupid ass ones like "Great post, bro!" or "Fail!", etc. You know you're a moron... if you have those on your hard drive.

Not too quick on the draw, are ya? If you spent less time complaining and more time actually checking out the new forums, ten seconds of searching would reveal the option to disable images.

Of course, complaining is so much easier, amirite?

Thank you for your post!

I agree, I especially miss the side bar and the avatars are pure CRAP.
They are working on the search function, but overall, I like the new format.
