i think it's positive the doctor is older
I agree, I hoped it would be an older Doctor, too.
So many of the younger generation, are going to see this "new" doctor, as "their" hero, in some cases, the first ever Doctor Who they see.
This 'older' Doctor, might also give the script writers more flexibility to come up with even more exciting story lines, and inject more pizazz into the show.
it just seems odd that he was already in the show, and also played a part in the spin-off. other than that, i have no issues one way or the other and look forward to seeing how he takes on the role.
Peter Capaldi's previous role in Torchwood is not that uncommon in British TV, especially soaps, where actors hop between the shows.
It means the recruiting people, are already aware of their talents and abilities, and they are use to the way the show(s) work.
This means that there is less risk and uncertainty taking them on in the "sister" show(s).
