Perhaps they could visit the Animatrix stuff before the machines took over. That could be kind of neat.

I liked all 3 Matrix movies. People will bitch about literally everything.

I liked all of them as well, though there are definitely parts of the latter two films that I hated, like the cave rave. D:

What? You like the ending of the 3rd one?

It was like the directors ran out of money so they could not set up the final fight to end the movie.

Wachowski plan to revisit The Matrix franchise, and possibly launch a new prequel trilogy by 2017.

Which is interesting because it could end up being about how the machines took over. Very Terminatorish,

Personally liked Revolutions a lot more than Reloaded, although it still had some pretty silly moments. Reloaded felt way too overloaded with boring fights that looked more like carefully choreographed dance sequences.

A prequel could be okay but going for another trilogy seems really over the top. It looks like Hobbit Syndrome could be becoming a thing...

Well, considering they already butchered a classic (the first film) with two sequels that went from bad to worse, I say 'have at it'. They can't do any worse than part 2 and 3.

There's actually some reason to feel optimistic, which I will try to explain here.

If the Wachowskis didn't have enough clout after part 1, and made parts 2 and 3 with heavy studio nannying, then maybe some of the blame isn't entirely their fault. Perhaps the years since they've learned a lot and will do the series a greater amount of justice.

My only catch with that theory is that their work has been pretty uneven in the years since. Only Vendetta has been truly above average, the rest of the films have been .. interesting. I won't call them terrible, but I'm not in any hurry to rewatch Cloud Atlas or Speed Racer this century.

As soon as I can find my fucks around here, maybe I'll give one.

They should just sell the property to Disney and let them run with it. Seems to be the thing to do these days.
