Hmm...second voter.

Kinda glad they left tom bombadil out of FOTR, he was the jar-jar of the series.

Star Wars. I only liked a few of the Star Trek movies and Peter Jackson screwed up The Lord Of The Rings.

I went with Star Trek, because it has a much more detailed and fleshed out universe.
Star Wars is cool and all, but the new movies haven't impressed me.
LOTR just wan't very good IMHO

star wars is the best mix fantasy/sci fi/action. LOTR will have the most emotional and dramatic movies. Star Trek will have the most losers in attendance to its movies.

hmmmm
It wasn't a toughy untill you through LOTRs in there. But I don't think it should even be there unless I guess if this is a geek fanboy vote.

I'd vote Starwars as the best Sci-Fi and LOTR as the best Fantasy but just one..... I guess SW

Voyager was pretty bad, but Enterprise is good :)

But nothing can beat the quality and "epic" of the LOTR series :p

I think it kind of depends on what type of movies you like. Star Trek is true scifi. Star Wars is almost a buddy movie type thing, along the same format of many westerns that were produced at the time (no one hurt me, I voted Star Wars!), and LOTR is a true epic.

say what? LOTR whips it. sure, they're far better than the star trek books (except for anything by kevin j anderson and a couple others like the children of the jedi and the one where han and luke just whine about the good old days) but they can't even touch LOTR.

The Timothy Zahn books were the best of SW. And you are right about LOTR...I was mostly comparing between SW & ST

Although I think the Star Wars movies are better than the Star Trek movies, I voted Trek because of how immersed I've been because of the TV series. Some of the Star Trek movies were very disappointing.

<< nothin is better than ST2-ST4 >>

ST4 meaning The Voyage Home? You couldn't get much worse than that.

Star trek is i love you-land (no offense to bundles of twigs) incarnate and I mean that in the cleanest most crystal clear sense I can.

Star wars is about 4 milion times better than star trek and - in fact my god isn't that a dumb name? Star TREK? Come on now - so anyway yes and then LOTR is similar in coolness to Star Wars.

LoTR is the best, and I would of liked to see tom bombadil in the movie, well I would of liked to see aragon carry the broken sword too, but who knows what they where thinking.

Eloquently put, but I agree. Star Trek is boring and geekish beyond all proportions. Bar none ever episode has at least one part where I'm like *GROAN* and I feel embarassed for the people on the show for something so interminably goofy they did.
