The NES is Indestructible!

I was going through some old stuff in my closet when I came across my old NES. It had been sitting there for almost 10 years untouched.
I pulled it out, dusted it off, plugged it in, and put in good ol' Mario/Duck Hunt; It worked perfectly the first time I pushed the power button... didnt even need to blow on the cartridge 😎
I'm kicking some ass in Megaman 2 right now!

I  my NES

Man I wish my NES was working on the first try like that when it was near-new. Baseball Stars was my favorite.

By "Indestrucitible" I thought it took a bullet or something.

-Case

i thought it meant he was trying to destroy it like by dropping it off a roof or something.

Well it took quite a beating throughout the years, then it sat there for about 9 and worked instantly when I plugged it in. I think that's pretty impressive.

I still play my on occasion. RBI baseball will never stop being fun.

RBI baseball rocks...i always play that plus contra and super tecmo bowl. i still have a $28 GC to ebgames. maybe i should check out what NES games they have.

Dragon Warrior was awesome... I didn't like the sequals as much as the original, but that's how it always goes, right? =)

Dragon Warrior 2 was so damn hard.
Dragon Warrior 3 and 4 were the bomb.
Dragon Warrior 7 was... zzzzzzzzz

I bought one at the Goodwill center about 3 years ago. Works fine but the spring-thing that holds the game down is broke. I have to use one of my wife's empty marlboro packs to cram it down.

Afterwards I went to eBay and bought Tecmo Super Bowl. God I love that game.

I sure missed the NES. Contra, Baseball Stars were a few great games. Love that option in Baseball Stars that you can build your team from scratch.

BTW, there is a handheld thing called PowerJoy that has several hundreds old games (Atari and NES). I am sure it has Contra, Duckhunt and such. Good stuffs.

Gratz 🙂 Wish I still had my uncles old NES 🙁 Now I am stuck with emulation 🙁

Emulation isn't bad. I get to have a bunch of consoles and my C=64 (Turrican ROCKS!!!) running on my TV off my HTPC. 😀

The NES is far from indestructible. It takes a lot of abuse, but in my opinion the connector is like a filter. Effectiveness of connection gradually decreases eventually requiring replacement.

That's easy to fix if you don't mind taking it apart. Takes all of 5 minutes, and 3 of those are used getting up to get another

i still play my NES every so often. its all about the 'shoving 2 cartridges to hold the game down'-technique!

LOL I had a fat swiss army knife that I used to put between the game and the lid...

Good times good times! 😀
