Wow, soooo many questions come to mind, I barely know where to start. Okay, let's begin with these:

1.) Will this parody book outsell Palin's own book?
2.) Will right-wing social retards mistakenly buy "Going Rouge" instead of "Going Rogue?"
3.) Which book will tell a more honest account of the Palin story?
4.) Will both books flop, because no one gives two craps about Sarah Palin anymore?

I'm breathless with anticipation to see which way the winds will blow for Caribou Barbie.

The Nation preps book mocking Palin

Editors from the progressive magazine The Nation are pulling together a book to be released the same day as Sarah Palin?s with a similar title and cover mocking the former Alaska governor?s memoir.

The book titled ?Going Rouge: Sarah Palin an American Nightmare? is edited by Richard Kim, a senior editor at the weekly magazine, along with The Nation?s Executive Editor Betsy Reed.

The book?s cover displays a picture nearly identical to the photo chosen for the cover of Palin?s own ?Going Rogue: An American Life.?

In both pictures, Palin is wearing red behind a cloudy sky, though the background of ?Going Rouge? is dark and gloomy with a lightning bolt come down over Palin?s left shoulder.

The book, being published by OR Books, will contain contributions from twenty-three writers including Joe Conason, Katha Pollitt, and Jim Hightower.

Both books are set to be released on Nov. 17 and pre-orders for a paperback copy of ?Going Rouge? cost $10.

Kim told POLITICO that he and Reed started the project three weeks ago at the urging of his book agent.

?The cover is a parody of hers and it certainly takes some shots and mocks Sarah Palin, but it is a very serious book and the book itself is not a parody,? Kim said. ?It is not at all intended as a joke or a parody.?

The publisher?s website teases the book as ?the most honest, revealing account of the Palin story to appear this fall? You betcha!?

?Sarah Palin has many faces: hockey mom, fundamentalist Christian, sex symbol, Republican ideologue, fashion icon, ?maverick? populist. But, above all, Palin has become one thing: an American obsession that just won?t go away,? the book?s description continues

?Edited by two senior editors at The Nation magazine, this sharp, smart, up-to-the-minute book examines Palin?s quirky origins in Wasilla, Alaska, her spectacular rise to the effective leadership of the Republican Party, and the nightmarish prospect of her continuing to dominate the nation?s political scene.?

this question is already answered in the negative at least for Palin's book.

As to the title, if they put a similar picture of her on the cover, I smell a law suit.

If someone buys the satire book by mistake, I suppose it would be unfair for me to call them foolish. That would make it look like I was having a laugh at their expense, and humor at someone else's expense is just not right.

Just kidding.

Nah, parody/satire gets around that:

http://www.amazon.com/Godless-...&qid=1256239300&sr=8-3

vs.

http://www.amazon.com/Soulless...&qid=1256239387&sr=8-3

is just one example.

In all cases I know of the parody book doesn't get nearly as well sold. People tend to like the idea, not not want to bother spending money on it.

We already know her fans can't spell maverick or socialism. Wouldn't shock me if they f*** this one up too.

I find it absolutley amazing how scared the libs are of this woman.
The fact that the liberal dems don't like her and run scared form her, is enough for me to hope she succeeds at anything she does.

Republicans and liberals are pretty much equally pathetic. You chose a team and do whatever moron with the loudest voice tells you and deride the other team for doing the same. This isn't fucking football jackass, the fate of our planet and way of life are at stake.

The only thing about Sarah Palin that frightened me was the thought of her utter incompetence dwelling one septuagenarian heartbeat away from the Oval Office.

It's an incredible tragedy that anyone would decide who he votes for based on who would upset the largest number of people that he dislikes. You're no longer hoping that we as a country can win, but that "teh libruls," as a group, lose. It blows my mind that you could actually hold that belief in earnest. What a sad, sad person you are.

Good call. Let's burn the country down so you can have a good laugh.

It all comes down to marketing, the television commercials you and I hate. Face the facts, commercials are great for increasing name recognition and little else. Bottom line, I will not waste a single dime of my own money buying either book.

Sad to say, Sarah Palin had some reformist cred for taking on Alaskan oil companies and benefiting the people of Alaska prior to McCain tapping her as a VP choice, sadly she has sold herself out as a media whore since then, Sarah will make much piles of money as a prostitute, but she is still a prostitute.

1) No. Libtards like to talk a lot, but they won't put their money where their mouth is.
2) Only libtards are dumb enough to vote for the wrong candidate in large numbers because of ballot confusion.
3) Neither. One is written by libtard idiots, the other by an idiot trying to promote herself.
4) No, Palin's book is already in the top five books in the country, and I'm sure that will go up further.

Personally, I think Palin is a closed-minded fundie, but seeing the lefty nuts go bananas over her time and time again is great. We need her in the oval office :p

After the people start seeing the full magnitude of the disaster that Obama is unleashing on the country, even a nut like Palin could get elected.....

Not the best logic. If it appeared to me that a great amount of the voting population had some infatuation with putting in power a housecat, for example, wouldn't it be reasonable to be scared and try and denigrate that housecat so that I can be sure it doesn't gain more power?

People in general who have more than a tenth of a gram of brain matter are scared of her because they know that so many are infatuated with her and would support her.

You hope. Admit you're a little terrified of the prospect of it not being a lock. It's not really a gamble I'd like to see. I'd ideally like to see a democrat and republican win both of whom are not complete fvckups.

If Obama screws up the person most unlike him could win and Palin fits the bill. Afterall, that is how Obama got elected after Bush's catastrophfvck.
