i applaud Nader for having the guts and vision to seek the presidency.

i for one sincerely hope he runs an inspired campaign and gets the votes he truely deserves.

i will however, formally announce this weekend, that i will not be supporting Nader.

HAHAHAHA

I'm sending him money.

7:38 p.m. Pacific Standard Time. Starts with Galt and ends with Heart. I skipped it. I recommend you do too, althoug, as time goes on it will end with other buttheads than Heart. Look at this post! I rest my case.

Don't blame them (us? :))

Blame your friends who sit in coffee shops, spouting the all-encompassing implied political complaint "Don't blame me, I voted for Nader!"--and believe the right to use the nifty one liner is more important than actually changing things.

Personally, I think it's the worst type of voter apathy.

But of course, voting for whoever you want is your right ;)

I sorta think Sweeney's recent endorsement of Kerry may have pushed Nader over the edge, especially considering that Edwards' views on many issues are more in line with the average working Joe.

1) Nader wants a better Democratic party and is willing to wait till 2008 and suffer with Bush four more years to get it.

2) Whereas others place the ousting of Bush as the number one priority.

what's good for the goose....

you know, if Ross Perot had not run, Clinton would never have been elected....

if Nader wants to run..good for him...and good for me.

It doesn't matter Bush is going to win anyway. The best we can hope out of this race is that the issue of Bush and his Neocon handlers misleading the American public into supporting his excellent adventure in Iraq. It's not the #1 issue in this race though (the economy is) so even if he is severly bloodied over it, as long as their is a perception that the economy is improving he shouldn't have any problem retaining his job. However, maybe as a result of the debate regarding his Administrations deceitfulness regarding the reasons to attack Iraq some of his Neocon Handlers heads will roll hopefully along with Ashcrofts.

Any bets on how many death threats he gets if he runs? How many attempts? He is going to be extremely unpopular.

Not running would sort of be like admitting you were wrong and there is a difference between Bush and Gore and he personally was directly responsible for the Sepreme Coup's big chance to select a criminal team. That's kind of asking alot of the guy.

I kinda like the old watermelon man ( green on the outside, red on the inside) He's got that whacked out eye. Between him and Dean they would make a great pair, if only Dean would run green party..........

If it makes your voice heard is it considered stupid?

If Bush wins and nothing changes, is your voice really being heard?

If I wanted something and instead got the polar opposite, I'd think my voice was being silenced worse than ever...

Adds another dimension to the definition of a "Liberal"
Yep. Another example of the left drifting farther and farther to the right. Pretty soon they'll be trampling free speech rights and launching smear campaigns against each other.

Probably true, though Nader has always had fierce detractors on the right. Sadly, the right doesn't hold the monopoly on extremist loons. The left has a few too.

;)

You don't change human nature by lumping a broad spectrum of people together under a convenient label. They are still individuals. Some will follow the pack, but others march to their own drummer, be it good or bad. Nader is a good bad example. He is so in love with himself and his own agenda that he will hurt the country -- again -- to stoke his ego.

Wow. I'd love to see some confirmation of this, but this is really going to hurt Kerry, if true.

Indeed. If true, then Nader will siphon off many Dean supporters. That will give the edge to Bush, and probably enough to throw the election to him. Nader will do for Kerry what he did for Gore, and what Perot did for Bush I

wait..... bush won the election? the point is nadar should be the main contender against dubs hed take um out... if only the third party system workd

Well if Nader was Bush's main contender, he'd be the second party, now wouldn't he? ;)

If I were to ever run as a third party candidate, I would be satisfied with one of the following results:
·One of the major candidates recognizes that I'm going to be a force and agrees to adopt many of my ideas (giving credit to me of course)--At which point, I would withdraw
·I get to be vice president ;) or get some appointed position
·Both major parties see how popular I am and realize that the political landscape has changed and the whole spectrum shifts in my direction
·I bring national (even world) attention to one of my major causes. I'd make a speech like, "I may have lost the election but the real winner here is the California condor."

No he didnt. That's the point. Opinions vary as to if the vote sucking effect was enough, but it may have been, and certainly would have if the margin of victory had been less. Perot hurt Bush more than Clinton.

Nader to Make Another White House Run in 2004
Sun February 22, 2004 09:41 AM ET

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Ralph Nader, whose third-party White House bid in 2000 was blamed by some Democrats for helping elect President Bush, said on Sunday he will try again this year, running as an independent.

Ignoring the pleas of Democrats who have asked him to stay out of the race, the veteran consumer advocate said he was running out of a strong desire to evict Bush from the White House.

"I've decided to run as an independent candidate for president," he said on NBC's "Meet the Press." ...
