the basic question i am asking is, why is the word so widely used by those who hate it?

It is socially acceptable for black people (minorities in general) to be racist.

isnt that called reverse racism?

Basically, slightly different than the situation you mentioned but in the same vein. Both are types of double standards.

N-bomb is actually the latest military development.
You drop it on any city, and it turns into a ghetto. Enemy defeated within minutes.

I was listening to music in my car that i burnt.

In one song you have an African American gentleman dropping N bombs all over the place.

Now, from what i understand, this is a racist term. If a white person says it, they are deemed racist and would get beaten up by said African American gentleman.

I dont understand the logic. If its a bad word, why do they use it all the time?

So if you're a white dude and have music blasting that has an AA gentleman dropping N bombs all over the place, are you considered racist?

no, thats not my question.

plus i didnt realise the song had the n bomb n it, it was remixed

lenny bruce had a routine in which he rapidly repeated the word many times trying to get people to realize that it could become just a common word. Unfortunately, he was ahead of his time.

---

n word is more common - not n bomb.

To reclaim a word that was used for decades to dehumanize them as their own, and thereby neuter it.

You really don't understand that?

In the sixties, hippie haters tried to marginalize people with long hair by calling then FREAKS, so they did the very same goddamn thing and proudly claimed it as our own and thereby neutralized it -- let your freak flag fly! Bet you didn't even know that, it was so successful.

Again, it's the very same reason many gays have tried to neutralize the hateful word QUEER by appropriating it as their own -- "We're here, we're queer, get used to it."

See? It's a pretty damn simple and elemental concept when you stop for even one moment to think about it.

So if I grew up around more black people than QueBert and have more black friends, does that make me a ******?

Dammit, there goes Perk brandishing his sensibility, knowledge, and intelligence! :|

Because there is a double standard in this country. White guilt causes white people to look the other way from racism that isnt within their own community.
