Hm... the first thing to come to mind is COMMERCIALS WITH VOLUME MUCH LOUDER THAN THE SHOW.

Well that can be explained, by the show being not as loud as the commercials.

See, tv shows use dynamic volume levels, or whatever it is called, and that is why some sounds, like talking, aren't as loud as say, gunshots and explosions.

Commercials, on the other hand, don't use that, no need. So, everything on a commercial can theoretically be a loud as an explosion you hear at the set volume level.

😉

Another vote for IM speak used outside of IM, texting and forums.

Oh god, I hate this. Whenever I hear someone say "lawl" or "oh em gee" or even "I see what you did there" IRL, I cringe a bit.

This.

"Social networking" websites in general.
LOL... what's with the "social networking" hate here? too funny!

this place is SO hilarious when it comes to bandwagon hate 😀

hate on, bros... hate on. LOLlllllllll

I have no problem with most social networking sites. I have a myspace and a facebook. They are great tools for keeping in touch. Twitter is a whole nother level of social networking where people truly believe that others care about every mundane detail of their life. Its fucking retarded.

this. Facebook is fine. Myspace would theoretically be fine except for the terrible design, and the audience it generally attracts. With Twitter, the entire concept is a big bucket of fail.

Oh, I know all the various explanations for it, but that doesn't make it any less annoying.

Cell phones by far.

Ive been hit twice by people talking on them while driving.

I get to listen to women rag on thier husbands while they wait in line at the grocery.

I had to listen to some IT guy give tech support for 40 minutes in a restaraunt once. Im not sure if the person he was talking to was deaf or if he was tryign to look important but apparently the whole conversation had to be yelled.

Theaters are a freakin joke. Id rather sit at home after it comes out on dvd than listen to 15 phones ring and 100's of text notification tones.

People with BT walking around talking to themselves like crazy old bag ladies.

Bah!

The once proud Republican Party ever since they started pandering to the nutjob fundamentalists and gasbag ultra-right-wing Limbaugh types.

Most annoying.. People who don't know a 40 Year Old Virgin reference when it's posted..

On topic.. Social Networking. By far. If one more person asks me for my MySpace/FaceBook/Twitter/WhatTheFuckEver link so they can be my "friend", I'm going to kill a box of kittens. E-mail is my social network. </rant>

Most annoying thing that happened to the internet... social networking sites.
Most annoying thing that happened IRL... bass thumping cars.... and obliviously obnoxious people.
