Show me the climate bill or major BBB initiatives he's passed. All these deals the old master of the Senate was supposed to cut.
He got the bipartisan bill, driven by the Senate, but his bigger bill has been the football he's let Manchin pull away time over time.
His hat in his sad hands trip to Saudi Arabia to ask for help on oil and gas prices, meanwhile he made big promises to stop fracking on federal land. Embarrassing in era of $5 gas prices that hit everyone's wallet.
He did well on vaccines, but was too slow to undue pandemic restrictions, and those have come due to losing in court. More weakness and slowness.
Here's a promise tracker. Lots "in the works" (ie not dead yet) little in the win column.
You may think he's doing a bang up job, but his terrible polling would put you into a tiny minority.
What would you have him do differently? Be specific, nothing like 'just do it better'.
Accomplishments, not excuses.
Circling back to this, and the turn of events is what I was demanding from the Ds and from Biden.
It looked like it was doomed, but hats off to Machin and Schumer for the rope a dope on the Rs. I wasn't going to accept failure on these.
The Inflation act (lol) and the Chips bills were exactly what I was wanting to see and getting pissed it was fading.
- industrial policy progress, pivot crucial manufacturing back from China
- climate bill, acceleration of EVs
- getting big companies to pay taxes, not dump tax increases on wage earners
- strengthening healthcare
- not porking it up with a bunch of progressive big govt spending programs (eg free college in the status quo system)
The vets bill was good, lots of good stuff in the last two weeks.
Now, get Trump locked up, protect democracy, and it's a great set of accomplishments for any president.
Few other items on my list, but mant of the must dos are done.
