I will accept us landing on the moon more then I will deny it, but I wasn't even alive when it happened. And something as astronomical as going to another planet is not easily facilitated.

I really do have an open mind, and I really don't care if you call it a hole in the head.

Is the moon the 3rd or 4th planet? I forget.

:) i don't think you should be worried about what numerical order it comes in, I suggest you deal with that mental problem.

that gets so annoying, it's best to avoid taking the replies as anything more than entertainment.

no doubt.

i'm done trying to make people see something they are blind to, so i'm done with this.

thats what you said about 50 posts ago.... you're playing the martyr, so quit complaining about your getting 'beat up'.

no, most of us have asked questions and realized that the space program was true.

dude... there's something all of us (mostly) are seeing except for you. Maybe it's not us that's the problem.

For example, your very first post in this thread carried enough implication to reasonably conclude you believed the moon landing was faked. You made no mention of a possibility. You also came across as condescending and rude. You built your own house for us to tear down, so we did. Your first post also suggests you don't believe a thing unless you yourself see it with your own eyes. That too is foolish. IT's good to question stuff but do it reasonably. If you trust nothing except what you yourself personally observe... if you are going to discount any semblance of certainty regarding secondary/tertiary/etc. sources, then you are going to find yourself quite alone on a lot of issues, not the least of which is something so widely accepted and proven as the moon landing. Good luck in your crusade against the reasonable standard.

Unfortunetely you wouldn't be able to allow your kid to attend ANY school in this case.

Especially once you get to college, all teachers are nutjobs trying to pass off their liberal/socialist agenda's to america's youth. And the sad part is that most people my age buy into it all.

It is common knowledge that Neil Armstrong screwed up his famous line. He omitted a tiny word, and made the saying essentially meaningless because in the context of the sentence the way it was spoken, man and manking are synonymous.

"One small step for man, one large step for mankind" should have been "one small step for a man, one large step for mankind."

If this was all scripted and done on earth, why did they have another take and get the line right?

Unless they knew we would think that, and would ask that, so they put it in there....hmmm, how caluclated and deceiving...

It looks like Pontifex owes someone $100. Pontifex never stated that the quote from him needs to come from this thread. Pay up, Pontifex.

There is a huge difference between science and religion. Religion is based on faith - ie. belief in the abscense of proof.

Science is based on proof and evidence. There is enormous proof and evidence that we went to the moon. Doubting it just because you "have an open mind" only means your mind is closed to the overwhelming weight of evidence that indicates that we really did go to the moon.

i guess i'm to lazy to ask and still hold a sliver of a p0ssibility that it might have been fabricated to prove to the rest of the world that USA #1.

the moon IS the only place outside earth that has been visited right?
the US hasn't been able to acheive Mars in the past how many more years?
But it's not really a race anymore right?
no rush I guess.
;)

Except all the people who believe it was faked are the same people who think 9/11 was caused by Bush and 1000's of other conspiracy theories, all while wearing their tin foil hats.

Find for me a single person who believes the moon landing was fake, and who doesn't also believe in some other retarded conspiracy theory. You can't because these people are all of the same mind.

See this is exactly what I'm talking about. I could have told you, LONG before this thread that Pontifex is the kind of person that would believe the moon landing was fake. Because he has also been in the 9/11 threads calling that a conspiracy. And actually I could have told you even before that simply because of his personallity. He posts a lot around here and he's quite consistently come across as this type of person.

In most cases, I have found, open mind = unable to make decisions.

Having an open mind, after a certain point, just means you reserve your right to change your mind if your current thinking is wrong without any hassle. Pick a side and stick with it. There is doubt with EVERYTHING in life. However, reasonable doubt is what we look at.

Is it possible to fake a moon landing? Yes. Just ask pontifex's SO if it is possible to fake large events.

Is it possible that we did it, that we faked it? Yes. But it is also possible that we have been time travelling and that Santa exists.

Is there enough evidence to squash all doubt? No.

Is there enough evidence to squash reasonable doubt? Yes.

all of a sudden i'm the guy who doesn't believe we landed on the moon.

if you want to talk about reasonable, you aren't going to find it in this thread.

Try reading my first post. You will find reasonable logical arguments.

Your reply was a bolded caps reply which didn't answer any of my question, and what you did say was irrelevant because I didn't make that statement. However, according to the recently posted quote from you in another thread, you did acutally say it.

The ironing is delicious.
