I emailed Thermalright and this i swhat they had to say about the XP-90.
I have an AMD 3400+ DTR chip on the way I currently have a chaintech VNF3-250 motherboard and the XP-90. My current setup works fine without any issues I just want to know since the DTR doesn't have the heat spreader on it will there be any issues with me using the XP-90 with the DTR chip?

I believe the problem is not with the board but which cooler are you going to use with it. I've successfully tested two coolers with my DTR, the Thermaltake polo735 and the Zalman7000B-Cu, in both Chaintech VNF3-250 and Abit NF8.
