to tell you the truth, its probably more worth it to just buy the asrock k8s8x and get a 3200+ instead of the 3000+ b/c I know my asrock ran stable at 260htt. Combine that with 10x multi I'm looking at 2.6ghz no prob if the core is willing. The dtr also seems better b/c it is cheaper and has the capability on the asrock to run at 1.55v instead of 1.45. My mobile 1.4 3000+ was running 28 cel idle, 34 load, with 948u and fan on low, so I'm not even near worried about heat. I'm just not in the mood to screw with a diff mobo. Fact of the matter is , even if I got that k8ns pro i'm only looking at about 500 more 3dmarks at best, so who cares.
Bar81, The only big quirk I had with my asrock as the HTT multiplyer deal. I had to lower it to 400mhz to get it to run stable at 260 htt. I didn't see much of a perf decrease if at all. Does the 400-800 mhz jump in the HTT ( 800 - 1600mhz ) even matter that much? Thanks.
