The Matrix suddenly seems soooooo deeep, possible spoilers... make that MAJOR SPOILER ALERT

People may complain about Reloaded, but I think it's great that it's sparked such great debate and philosophical analysis.

Since they said there isn't a matrix within a matrix, I'm going to believe them and assume the IMDB Post is just good reading. If it turns out that there is a matrix w/in a matrix (or some variation that says the 'realworld'= a program) then I'll be disappointed.

people complain about reloaded because they don't give much thought into it...

this trilogy is the best thing ever... all the secret words, secret numbers, contradictions, etc...

this is probably the deepest written script ever...

The clue here is Neo's program name - "The One". Take one-third for example. 1 over
3 is 0.33333 recurring. A computer cannot deal with recurring numbers, so
must accept a limit, let's say 0.33333 for argument's sake. Multiply by 3,
you get 0.99999 - never 1.00000, where has the "remainder" 0.00001 (One)
gone? This is the limitation of computers, this is the mathematical
imprecision inherent in programming (of the Matrix) and the eventuality of
the One anomaly unable to be eliminated.

:Q

OH NOOEESSS!!!

Does this mean we have an answer to the "does .999... = 1" thread? 😛

None of this really qualifies as a spoiler, it's all conjecture and hypothesis based on the scripts and movies of the Matrix and the Matrix Reloaded.

I buy the Matrix within the Matrix theory. I liked the first two because they were steeped in philosophical musings, something I don't think most people really got. Probably due to not having had too much prior thought or exposure to philosophical theories, so you can't blame em. I don't like when people complain that the second movie was too unrealistic. Of course it isn't, it's a movie, and it takes place inside of a simulation. I think the more interesting aspect of the movie is the plot, not the special effects.

Interesting. Normally, I'm not one to dig too deep beneath the surface of movies, given that most movies are made not for artistic reasons but purely for profit, but all of these little things intentionally put into the script have to have a reason. I can't wait for Revolutions.
