there was another theory at rotton tomato i think, or somewhere...something along the lines that humans are really in control, neo-morpheus all those characters are machines.

good read

What's so special about Neo's avatar? :

Neo is a skilled hacker, and his avatar in the Matrix is based on the person
that founded the AI of the original machines that eventually took over the
world... How? Take a look at the disc he gave to the bloke at the door at
the beginning of Matrix 1. It said "DISC AI" on it. The hollowed book Neo
takes the disc out of is "Simulacra and Simulation" - a collection of
essays by the French postmodernist philosopher Jean Baudrillard. He opens it
to the section "on Nihilism" (meaning nothing is truly known, etc.).
"Baudrillard's concept of simulation is the creation of the real through
conceptual or 'mythological' models which have no connection or origin in
reality. The model becomes the determinant of our perception of
reality--the real." And Morpheus says, "Welcome to the desert of the real,"
in Matrix 1. I'd say this book describes The Matrix to a tee. So this disc
contains the key to the AI, and thus how to destroy the machines, so I
think they'll use this info in Revolutions to ultimately destroy the
machines, which means he'll have to go back to the nightclub and find the
guy he gave it to.

Whoa, this guy really knows his Matrix.

this was an awesome read though. I don't think it ruined the next matrix for me since it's all speculation. really cool ideas though...

I have yet to read the article, but it always seems as if every theory I read, it always seems like it could be right. That's the great thing about the Matrix trilogy, it's so deep, the conversation on the net is amazing.

And how can there be spoilers? It's one guy's opinion.

people complain about reloaded because they don't give much thought into it...

this trilogy is the best thing ever... all the secret words, secret numbers, contradictions, etc...

this is probably the deepest written script ever...

Exactly. They are complaining because they are too stupid to think that a movie blockbuster this big wouldn't just be a "Good versus Evil, bad guy loses" type movie.

I may not have been alive for it, but I'm sure that people hated the ending of Empire Strikes Back, until they saw how awesome the opening to Return of the Jedi was.

Wow, this has just revived my hopes to see Revelations. Let's just hope the plot is as good as described in that post and not something stupid.

WOW!! Im going to make a Part 4 called The Matrix Explained.

Hahaha

Not sure, but it definitely involves pi. The Keymaker refers to the window
of time to open the door to the mainframe as 314 seconds. 3.14 is pi to
three sig. figs., or the number of radians in half a circle. Half a circle
is like the cross-section of a womb, similar to the alcove of Neo and
Trinity's love scene - conceiving the next One? "NEO", incidentally, is an
anagram of "ONE". Trinity and Neo - one on one; a choice - one or one. Leads
us to 101. "101" is mentioned numerous times in Matrix 1 and Reloaded.
Neo's room at the beginning, Merovingian is on the 101st floor, the 101
freeway of the car chase in Reloaded, then when Trinity is hacking into the
power plant system, she resets the password to Z10N0101. Freaky. Indicates
that she is a program because that's not some random password she's put in.
101 is binary for 5, which in zero-based binary counting: 000 is 1, 001, is
2, 010 is 3, 011 is 4, 100 is 5, 101 is 6 - And this is the 6th version of
the Matrix! Then there are 303. 303 is the room Neo got shot in Matrix 1,
the Oracle lives in room 303, it's also the hotel room number Trinity is in
Matrix 1 and it's seen at the end when Neo fights the Agents and Smith and
begins to literally see the code that makes up the Matrix. 101 x 3 = 303, a
trilogy, 3 + 0 + 3 = 6 = the 6th Matrix. Trinity means 3.

Holy crap, wheres jesse jackson when you need him.

they did, but the WHOLE star wars trilogy is NO WHERE NEAR as deep as the Matrix.

I'm not knocking the Matrix series, but for all you know, the brothers could've written this while drunk and thought it made sense...

If you want deep, watch JJ Abrams' Alias on Sunday nights. 😉

My fiancee thought both Matrices were stupid. She is a bright girl but went into both movies with a bad attitude about them. She hates computer and hates sci-fi even more, lol. She understood the movie but dislikes it for the simple reason it is not a down to earth movie.

good read

Yeah, that is a good read as well.

In the **Official** Matrix Reloaded thread from some time ago, a link was posted to an interview with one of the actors and they stated there was no Matrix within a Matrix.

I haven't read the article in the link from the OP as I don't want to read any possible spoilers about the movie. Bad enough I know that from the interview from one of the actors.

Come on... this is such a strech. Who does zero-based binary counting?

Then there are 303. 303 is the room Neo got shot in Matrix 1,

This is a little more believable... 303=room numbers, fine. I find it a little hard to believe that when neo "sees" the code that it is all 303's... but I really don't want to go home and check.

Other than that, it's a pretty good prediction, but that whole 101/303 section bothers me.

I hate that attitude.

Movies aren't meant to be down-to-earth; they are escapism. Down-to-earth is the antithesis of what a movie represents. Of course one can find movies that closely resemble "real life," but to dismiss a film based purely on the fact that it is fanciful is simply stupid.

he makes some very convincing points...
kudos to major dissection and paying attention to every damn detail in the movie..
he must have watched it 50x...in pause-play fashion.

WOW. That guy must sit inside all day 24/7 and watch the movies over and over and over to come up with that. Thats like his life work right there.
I do agree on the concept b/c i came up with a similar one.

What i do need to ask is, I did hear a while back that Agent Smith is good and a virus from the real real world people but does this mean Neo is going to turn out to be bad even if he is unaware of it. Basically he thinks hes helping by destroying the so called evil agent smith but maybe thats what the machines want him to believe. Cause if he destroys agent smith the real real like humans lose. I bet he realizes this then and does not destry agent smith and therefore joins him in the help to destry the matrix.

I have also heard one that says that The machines are helping the humans. Basically protecting them from thereselves and ehlping them servive. Since the humans scroched the earth making it unihabitable the machines feel simpothy for the humans therefore creating a world (the matrix) where the humans can survive since the real earth is scorched. If they destory the matrix the human race will die anyway since they would not be able to live in the real world or maybe they are holding them in the so called zoo so they can repair the world making it habitable again and then release the humans into the new repaired world

I wouldn't exactly call someone stupid because they don't spend countless hours online trying to figure out what every single thing in a movie means.
