The Man Who Would Save The USA

COMMENTARY | A recent article in The Huffington Post outlines 11 ideas that Ron Paul would carry out if elected president. Ron Paul's ideas are all sensible and very beneficial for this country. Much of his ideas are common sense, like bringing our troops home and save trillions of dollars as a result. Fighting multiple wars is not essential; rather, they are impairing our economy.
Fact: Ron Paul received the most military donations of anyone, even more than Obama, because the troops agree with Paul. The Federal Reserve, Paul believes, is not helping at all -- many people, including some of the candidates, are beginning to support his idea of auditing the Fed (and idea he's been preaching for decades). Common sense, by the way, is a major reason why Paul is so popular to the people. Everyone is sick of false politicians, and so Paul is just what the people want.

In a recent video interview, Paul mentions how he can balance the budget in one year. Currently, the divided Congress couldn't balance the budget, as we learned back in July when default was imminent. Basically, if Paul is going to be president, then common-sense Constitutionalism will be used to fix the major mess our idea of prosperity has created. He is turning to word of our founders to help us. This video is the source for many facts in the this article, even though facts about Paul were picked up from numerous places. That is because Paul is consistent, which is another reason why many people want him in office.

Another Paul-related article from The Huffington Post titled, "Ron Paul Can Win," demonstrates how past political movements have made outcomes that happened because of the people's own movements. He cites Winston Churchill's loss over the then-popular Labour Party as an example of the people's choice for prime minister, and how it happened because a political change was determined to happen. Robin Koerner believes that it is also what will happen in 2012 with the presidential election. He encourages his readers not to listen to the idea of "Ron Paul can't win."

The second article encourages the idea that history repeats itself. In fact, it does: America today is drawing dangerous similarities to Ancient Rome. According the to the Time Frame Series, in the edition titled Empires Ascendant, Rome was in an age of chaos once. After a great fire, much of the country's money was spent on glorious palaces and castles. In comparison to today, we have companies on the verge of collapse that spend their bailout money on outrageous parties.
All was chaotic until the ruling of Vespasian, a new kind of emperor. During Vespasian's reign, Rome entered an era of prosperity (69- 79 C.E, to be exact) after the era of chaos resulting from Nero and Caligula. He preferred to be depicted as realistically as possible, as opposed to rulers like Caligula and Nero who enjoyed heroic depictions, demonstrating how down-to-Earth he was.
Ron Paul is our modern day Vespasian, only Vespasian supported imperialism, while Ron Paul wants only to bring the troops home. Considering the time period, imperialism was essential for Rome's wealth, as they acquired treasures from foreign nations like Hispania (now Spain and Portugal) and Gaul (now France). Our methods of imperialism are basically militarism mixed with imperialism, and this method is obsolete and does not benefit America.

Ron Paul is the one who would save America. The biggest threat to the US is the debt and neither obama or romney have any plans to cut the debt. The debt will get even larger and cause even more problems. Both of them also support the Federal Reserve which is destroying the dollar and will continue to print money out of thin air and make the economy even worse.

obama and romney answer to AIPAC and both will attack Iran to stop them from getting a nuke. obama does trash Israel but its rhetoric and to appease part of his base, he still answers to AIPAC and the MIC since they have so much power over the government

So few people dont understand that most of the politicians are corrupt and serve special interests like Wall Street and the MIC. It is a two party dictatorship, both parties wanted Gary Johnson and Jill Stein out of the debates. The dnc convention forced Israel and God into the platform when the majority didn't want it since it was scripted from the start. The rnc replaced Ron Paul's delegates when the majority wanted them in

Both obama and romney also support the War on Drugs which serves special interests like the drug companies and the banks

Ron Paul predicted the recession and financial crash and warned everyone about the threat of bigger government. He is one of the only politicians who doesn't take money from corporations and lobbyists and genuinely cares about America

Ron Paul was right about all the different issues and has been spreading the same message for years.

Ron Paul is the one man who could save the United States because if either obama or romney wins then the USA loses

Do you agree that obama and romney both will make the US worse and Ron Paul could fix the problems?

I believe Congress would unite to impeach a third party President.

The guy would veto their budget, government would "shut down" and mob rule would ensure. Then both parties will come riding in on their white horses to save the day from the horrors of a balanced budget.

Yes to your first question and No to your second question. The 'Yes' is obvious, but the 'No' is because Ron Paul would be surrounded by the opposition and nothing he wanted would happen. Would be a lame duck president unfortunately.

But IF he were elected then that would be a message from the citizens that they want real change and Freedom. Ron Paul has been able to convince democrats and progressives to come to his side

I like his position on a lot of issues... but his background doesn't it make him popular enough to be a viable candidate. Plus it is not easy for one person to save the country. That person would be fighting a huge money machine in congress. It is not easy to say "well lets decriminalize marijuana" when probably most of the people in congress have stock in CCA.

I like Ron Paul because he honestly believes what he says, and his voting record in congress is a reflection of his beliefs. He had integrity.

That can not be said for all the people trying to co opt his message though.

I agree with what your saying but why is it that so many Americans dont believe this, they constantly fall for the lies and believe whatever is told to them

Ron Paul lacks the support of most Americans and would never be elected to POTUS.
Agreed

Look at the percentage of votes that he received in the primaries. Jsut above the noise level.

And he was only at the noise level 4 years ago.

His message resounds with the young and naive that have yet to see the real world.
Otherwise, his numbers would have been close to or more than 100% of '08. Existing converts, new converts (young) and some older converts.

He demonstrated none of this needed momentum. Adn amoung the Dems; his message will resound even less.

That is because there was a lot of fraud to take him out and the media was incredibly biased against him.

Did you not see what happened to the Ron Paul Maine delegates who were kicked out and it was scripted

The debt is a problem but not our biggest problem. Caused mainly by

reduced revenue due to recession
cost of wars
Bush tax cuts

If you actually look at the deficit it has gone down every year since 2009 (last Bush budget)

Take care of the above and it will have an effect in reducing the increase of debt

The video isn't about Ron Paul idiot, it's about the establishment RNC removing delegates they don't want at will instead of by procedure, the republican party is a farce.

This. But that requires common sense and making an effort and its much easier for them to make false claims

Again, why? Ron Paul is irrelevant and a loon. Add to the fact it's the RNC. Idiot.

The idea that the media wouldn't LOVE Ron Paul to be in the race is laughable.

That guy in the spotlight would sell a lot of papers and have people tuning in all the time.

If the media could make it happen, they would.
