To a partisan everything looks partisan. To a person trying to make sound logical assessments of a situation in an unbiased manner, comparisons between similarities and differences in cases will be important evaluations to make in trying to make sense of things. There is no way this distinction will be obvious to a person who is biased and no way to communicate it to them. The best that can happen is for a bigot to see in others some form of bigotry he or she themselves does not have and then question if they may not be the same when it comes to their own area of prejudice. The root of bigotry, in my opinion, lies in having some sacred cow one is out to protect.

This can't happen to a person who has died to the notion there is such a thing as good and evil. These do not actually exist but are the product of past experience where words are connected with negative experience, where one has been punished for thought crime before one even knows how to think. The defenders of good are folk who have been taught to fear evil, that evil being their real selves.

To die to bigotry requires suffering and suffering while it is happening isn't a lot of fun. Sadly, the relief and freedom are at the other side. Like being in a capsized boat you have to dive down to swim to the surface.

Since the situations share some similarities but also significant differences, I think the interpretation of statements made by politicians is bound to be subjective. I think my position is more in the middle on that.

The only process that matters is what voters think. We are way past the statute of limitations for criminal charges in this case.

Republican voters have made it crystal clear that morals and ethics don't mean shit because they will ignore immoral and unethical behavior by Republicans and manufacture immoral and unethical behavior by Democrats.
This has created an environment where many Democrats will also ignore immoral and unethical behavior by Democrats because they are still better than the Republican alternative. Enjoy this world you helped to create by indulging more than your fair share of manufactured outrage.

I would suggest that may be a conscious act at least for many. I think the Dems would not be all behind Biden in a typical election. I also don't think it's wrong to support him now for that reason, but disingenuous praise I don't think is good. Personally, I wouldn't vote Biden if the alternative were e.g. Romney, Jeb (or GWB if that were possible), most any other Republican except Ted Cruz. Not saying I would vote for those guys, just wouldn't vote for Biden to keep them from winning.

More competent? In what way? What has the task force accomplished, other than pushing responsibility onto Governors & giving Trump a platform from which to gaslight the fuck out of us?

Nice one. However, how is what you posted not agreement with his summation of the article? Your only variation was blaming the Republicans for what the Democrats were now doing.

The competent pandemic Pence that refused to wear a mask because he wanted to look people in the eyes? No thanks.

I would vote for Biden over any Republican and anyone that wouldn't is not paying attention or is prioritizing things other than improving our country. I would vote for almost any Democrat over Biden, but that is a moot point.

I don't think this way because I love Democrats or even like them. I think this way because I can see the damage that Republicans and their policies cause.

Well then, don't be so excruciatingly vague when you post. I didn't read his article. I don't care what it says. I don't care how bad Democrats are because I know Republicans are worse. I also think it is incredibly stupid to consider politician personality as anything other than an afterthought next to policy.
