AMD's Temash (2 core edition) is aimed at tablets. Problem is, it ain't getting any design wins ;-)
Temash is not just 2 core, it is also 4 core- unfortunately, it seems to just be binned Kabini dies.

FTFY, the surface has a power guzzling i5...

I don't know why Microsoft went with a 15W part for its Surface Pro 2. The 6W SDP Haswell parts work very well in the Vaio Tap 11. Still not fanless, but it works out well, particularly given Haswell's aggressive power management.

The 6W SDP Haswell
so I am guessing the around 6W SDP for the a6...or something like that.
Outrageous price? Limited availability? Intel prioritizing others due to MS bad behavior with RT?I don't know why Microsoft went with a 15W part for its Surface Pro 2. MSFT could have bought a nice, inexpensive Bay Trail.
But they're still doing the RT thing themselves with Tegra 4. That sells for $450, Pro sells for $850. This would have to sell for something in between, I guess. With Pro they can try to justify the very high price by saying it's a premium product with certain high end features. That reasoning doesn't scale so well.
Guys lets keep it relevant. AMD is irrelevant in tablets and always has been.
Tests show that the MSI W20's battery can last up to nine hours when reading ebooks or performing word processing, six when watching 1080P HD videos.
- Windows 8
- AMD Dual-core A4 A-Series Processor
- Excellent AMD Radeon HD 8180 graphics card performance
- 11.6" IPS HD (1366x768) with 10-point multi-touch for easy reading and enhanced performance
- Ultra long-distance Wi-Fi connection lets you go online anytime, anywhere
- mSATA SSD for faster read-write and accessing
- Fingerprint sensor protects information with business-class security
- Array Microphone reduces noise for clear, crisp sound
- Superior battery performance to meet your mobile business needs
They couldn't beat Apple in ultrabooks and they have even less chance with these tablets. Basically, zero chance at all.

Netbooks? Chromebooks? I can't think of anything else that has the word "book" in it. :awe:Apple buys loads of i5's and i7's for their Macbook Airs. What exactly is Intel trying to beat with Ultrabooks? Hint: It's not the MBA.
I think RT is the direction MS want to go completely, they want to merge mobile and tablet OS together first and make "Windows Store" the future... with as many people making apps for RT as possible before they pull the desktop completely in Windows 9 or 10. At that point you'll need an emulator like "Windows Wine" to run legacy Windows apps/games on any platform. Just my guess.I wish they would have, but that would be acknowledging the death of RT. It seems they want to beat that dead horse for another round.

trine is gonna be hard...but the other 2, will be fine.My biggest question about Bay Trail in something like the Asus T100 is how it will play games. If it can handle games like Torchlight/Trine/Mark of the Ninja with an acceptable framerate I will be very happy.

Mark of the Ninja actually looks like a pretty good game.
Metascore of 91 and it has controller support for Big Picture.
Looks like a good candidate for Bay Trail in a low cost Linux mini-desktop.
