Actually those figures arn't really that fantastic for a 4.2 litre engine, NSF4

The Ford Falcon 4 litre in-line 6 has 172KW@5500revs, which works out to be 230BHP, which works out to be about 260HP (SAE), Plus the block on that engine goes all the way back to the original 1960 Ford Falcon.

The thing I don't like about new engines is that you open the hood, and it's a plumber's nightmare. Since I'm into the mechanics of an engine, I'd much rather work on your average 1600cc air cooled VW bug engine Much more interesting to me, for some reason ...
