I'm not so sure he'd be summarily destroyed.
He's one of the world's top athletes (arguably of course). If he signed on, he'd be sure to train with some of the best the sport could offer, and money can buy. A guy with that sort of athletic ability could pick up a lot in a few months of training camp.
Chances are, anyone fighting him would ignore the stand-up game in favour of trying to get him off his feet (smart), so he going to be training on punishing a guy trying to shoot on him. He's wicked fast and accurate with his hands, probably like no mma fighter has ever seen. He doesn't have to aim for a win on the ground either, only a stalemate there, like many other mma punchers.
If he prepared properly, he'd have a chance. In my eyes, odds would be against him against any top guy in his weight class, but i doubt he'd be a pushover.
I think it'd be entertaining as hell. I hope he's more than just mouth about this, as i'd pay money to see him on the underside of a decent ground and pound.
*edit* unfortunately, i doubt he'd risk it, as the squared circle is way more profitable for him than the octagon, and the octagon carries much larger risk.
