I was on the fence about getting one of these for a while, but just drilling the test hole has me completely sold. Need to do some fine adjustments to get it completely level, but I'm really happy. Only problem is that it's very tall and so is my table. I'm 6'3" and I build my tables to be comfortable for my height. The center of the chuck is at about eye level, so if this thing fails and flies apart, I'll never even know...

Yeah, this will be a huge quality of life improvement, especially when it comes to aluminum. I don't love the clamp system, but that seems easy enough to replace.

A bunch of firewood, since I never got enough time to get my own this summer. It just went by too fast. Around $600ish delivered. I was going to pickup a bunch of small loads myself with my trailer but the one day I was off they did not have any available loose and was not sure when is the next time I can go since I really don't have much time off this schedule so decided to just pay for a single truck load.
More money than I wanted to spend, but still end up saving on gas so guess it's still a profit. This should last me the whole winter easy. Last year I had less so I was being more conservative with how often I made a fire but this year I can probably make way more.

Wow that's super cheap. When I got new tires for my truck they were that price... each. Came up to around $2,500 installed.

Yeah we just got hit with our first snow pretty much a day before that got delivered. That snow screwed me up so much too, because I had my trailer that I wanted to bring back to my property, and then this wood and was on night shift so couldn't really do anything meanwhile it kept accumulating. I stayed up after my last night just so I can try to move as much of the wood as I can while it's still accessible, and my parents offered to let me put my trailer in their yard as they have more space, so it saved me from going to my property in this snow.
That crap part though is all the wood is full of snow and ice so when I bring it inside I can only do it in small batches. I put it all around the wood stove since it's tiles there and let it melt with a fan then when it's dry enough to not damage the floor I move it and put more and repeat.
I managed to get tomorrow off so I can continue moving the wood to my back wood shed. Also need to finish building the wood rack in my basement, as that will let me store more. Last year I was just storing it free standing, but I didn't want to go too high with that in case the pile falls over.

Mid Dec. I doubt I'll be taking pix lol, it's just a resort. Mexican beaches are sad but whatever.

For example. Canadian side of Niagara Falls. Boring af right just like a resort in Cancun but I was with people I love so it made it fun.

Already done Chichen Itza and cenote in a previous trip so I'll probably stay on a lounge chair and drown my sorrows with non-alcoholic drinks.

Back in the days of film, I had a rule about taking photos at major tourist destinations: buy the postcards. Could I take a better picture than the ten million photographers before me? Maybe, but I doubt it. I broke that rule at Carlsbad Caverns because I knew I could take better photos than the postcards. People weren't real pleased with my tripod on the subterranean trail but they were fascinated by open bulb, multi-flash photography.

Alright if that is how you feel then I'm not gonna press and if Kaido wants to be that guy who follows me around the forum and uses AI to edit pics of me and my family instead of going and doing then so be it.
