80CrV2 (Swedish saw steel) tempered to about 59 HRC, carved maple handle. Tough stuff. If you put a thicker edge on it, like 25 degrees, that edge will last a long time. Strong enough for sub 20 degree grinds no problem. These come with ~18 degree convex edges on them. Mine felt closer to 20. It was quite sharp out of the box, no argument there, though a tad uneven upon close inspection. Gave it polished mirror bevels with the Tormek, stuck with 18 degrees. This thing is scary sharp. Just nasty.

My last Winkler. For real. No really. This time I mean it. Seriously.

Not I, but my wife ordered a cheapo cd player for my daughter for her birthday on Sunday, but also ordered her the new Taylor Swift album on cd. Well the player arrived before her birthday, but the album showed up yesterday. My daughter opened the package and was super excited. Except, when she opened it, my daughter said she loved it but asked "Why is it on vinyl?" Apparently the wife ordered the album on vinyl and not cd, so now we have a useless cd player, and a TS vinyl that she can't play lol

The vinyl definitely sounds better now.

I bought reading glasses 🤓. I’m not even f’in old. On the positive side, the second cataract surgery seems to have worked. The initial blur was more pronounced than it was for the first eye but it is clearing up.

I’ve already come to terms with the idea that I’m going to own an unreasonable number of readers as I will want a range of magnifications for different tasks. I’ll have to color code them as I can’t read the magnifications without putting them on. 😀

Yea i went down that path of buying readers a few months ago. They really do help but I have a hard time adjusting to them. I feel almost instantly nauseous because the difference is so drastic. For now, I at least also don't need cataract surgery for another year. I'm at the point where I'll be referred once a year to determine if I need the procedure.

Just ordered these

$48 so the wife thought we can use to power wash the patio and fence.

Wife's friend ordered a similar one and seems to work for simple washing/spraying with a little more juice than a normal hose & gun. Hers has the hose reel under the handle and the hose came kinked really bad and had a hole so she had to request a new hose from the seller. It was a PITA to take a part but she's had it for a few months and no complaints.
