Pointers are fun, but what's even more fun is when you use them for 3D linked lists. The issue I've run into when doing that though is memory fragmentation. Always end up using prebuilt data containers instead of spinning my own, but it's always fun to try doing one from scratch.

Have you noticed any decrease in bourbon prices? Seems like they should be cratering with the tariffs.

Prices on some, definitely not all, seem to have declined a bit. What I'm really noticing is that harder to find bottles that would disappear from shelves in minutes are now sitting out for way longer. The availability increase I think is part Canadian retaliation, part distillers have more product hitting from when they expanded due to the boom, and some people are starting to avoid some nonessential spending (which 80-150 dollar bottles of whiskey qualify as). Anecdotally people I know in the business say that sales of cheaper options have been increasing while the high end falls so I think its clear people are substituting less expensive alternatives.

I got 10 packs of these from aldi...

I love these things. Aldi gets them for Oktoberfest every year, and I stockup to have them through winter. I'll probably buy more if they still have them next time I go back.

They take an hour tale make in the oven...but only 15 MINUTES in the airfryer!

I kept my old airfryer specifically toasting nuts & making candied nuts:

This thing fucks. Photos attached.

My first cookie was a 7lb pork butt - seasoned with salt and pepper, cooked at 275F with oak pellets and apple chunks. Spritzed with apple cider vinegar after 5hrs then wrapped in foil. Cook for another 2-3 hours until and internal temp of 205F. Rested it for an hour and the bone just slid right out. I'm extremely impressed with the bark development I got off this thing - that's generally a shortcoming with pellet smokers. Keeping the smokebox fed with chunks of wood is a massive difference maker with this unit.

Picked this up on FB Marketplace before I headed up into the mountains on Friday. It was still NIB and he had a few he was selling for $150. Everything was sealed up and worked flawlessly, minus the ignition on the right burner. Was having trouble getting that side to fire up without a lighter. I'll have to inspect it further but for more than half off it was awesome. Didn't question where he got them from lol

I have a 36" griddle that I would take with us everywhere we went and that thing was a PITA to breakdown and load up. I lose a lot of surface area since this is only 22", but my back thanks me for it. Just have to wait a little longer for meals to be done. This pic isn't the exact model, but very similar.

I see things like that on Marketplace all the time. Often entire truck loads of tools being sold at half price. The stiff almost has to be stolen.

First go at ribs this past week -- outstanding. I'll dial back the salt a bit next time.

Yea like I said, I didn't ask and generally avoid FBMP because of that reason but the stars were aligned lol

I had been hesitating on this since price of copper is so expensive now, but it's not like it will ever come down so bit the bullet. Bought 45m of 6/3 teck cable which came up to around $1,000. Going to put in a sub panel in the garage to have more power there as I'm working on finishing the inside to turn it into a shop, and I wanted to size it big enough in case I ever get an EV so I would put in an outside charging station. I bought enough so I can also run a bigger feed for the server room sub panel, since that one is on a temporary 15 amp feed and I'm starting to push it to it's limit.

My panel is pretty much full right now so will need to upgrade that before I can terminate those two feeds, so that will be a purchase for later...

Started running from garage to basement, that was tough, going to actually strap it another time, I got the worse of it done at least.

That's still quite a few years away. The shop is also going to facilitate the off grid build as there's lot of things I can build out in the shop during winter once I have heat and insulation in there. I will also try to keep the house as long as I can. Once the costs of living exceed my pay that's when I will sell and move off grid full time, then try to find a WFH job I can do from there.

Could also look at renting out the house for income. Have not decided yet.
