Picked this up on FB Marketplace before I headed up into the mountains on Friday. It was still NIB and he had a few he was selling for $150. Everything was sealed up and worked flawlessly, minus the ignition on the right burner. Was having trouble getting that side to fire up without a lighter. I'll have to inspect it further but for more than half off it was awesome. Didn't question where he got them from lol

I have a 36" griddle that I would take with us everywhere we went and that thing was a PITA to breakdown and load up. I lose a lot of surface area since this is only 22", but my back thanks me for it. Just have to wait a little longer for meals to be done. This pic isn't the exact model, but very similar.
Sometimes people will buy overstock or return stock from home depot, Lowe's etc. you can legit buy a pallet of stuff for like $500. Most of it's good. You just gotta sort through and sell stuff to turn a profit.

Just pulled the trigger on a solar charge controller for a new solar array I put up. I could have sworn I had bought one already for this project but can't find it. It might be the one I ended up using for my portable solar setup at the off grid property. If not, I guess I'll find it eventually lol. I will always have a use for that sort of thing anyway.

FireMaple G3 & GreenPeak stove

Just finished up a ~45 mile 5-day backpacking trip in the Sierra's and this stove/pot combo was fantastic. 12'ozs of boiling water in a minute.

Fuel canister nests in the pot with the stove on top and the handle collapses over the lid locking it all down tight.

And a view of the lake from the following morning. 9830-ft elevation.

What brand of boots do you wear? I was near Stanley, ID two years ago and got 7 miles up a mountain trail and realized "hey, my big toe kind of hurts". The nail is almost regrown today 😛

Heh...we lived down river from Stanley almost 45 years ago. Was there for a mine construction project. Spent nearly all my off time fishing...Salmon river and its tributaries or one of the many lakes in the area. I loved it during the late spring to mid-autumn...but the winters there are fckn brutal.

Local lumber yard is having its annual pellet sale. Just bought 3 tons (pallets) of pellets for the pellet stove @ $250+ tax per ton.
Fortunately, I don't have to haul them home until I need them. They have a "pellet bank" where you pay for as many as you want, then go get them as you need them.

I loved the area, but yeah, the cold is nuts. I was there the day after Labor Day and it was 28 in the morning. Super expensive and soooo many hippies until you get about a mile outside of town.

Stanley, being "just over the hill" from Hailey/Sun Valley is pretty trendy. We lived just outside of Clayton...at the time, population 43...2020 census is 10.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.01 square miles (2.6 ha), all of it land, which makes it the smallest incorporated city of Idaho, and even the smallest incorporated city of the US.[5]
When we were there, Clayton was comprised of a bar and post office...in the same building. Looking at Google maps, doesn't look like that's changed.

Last day was ~12.7 miles and ~3500ft of climbing.
That reminds me of doing the Phantom Ranch to Grand Canyon North Rim hike in one day.
14 miles and a rise in elevation from ~2500 feet to 8100 feet.
The last 4 1/2 miles was a 4100 ft rise in elevation.
This was decades ago.

I did Half Dome around 2008 and that was enough for me. I didn't bring enough snacks/water so I cramped up in the middle of going up the cables, then when we got back down and we were driving back home, I was starting to go into shock. Fortunately we were close to Mariposa and stopped for some pizza and beer haha.

I was thinking of buying a coffee warmer from Amazon, but I decided it is fine just to take it to the microwave once it gets cold.

Electrolytes are key! I've learned that the hard way too.

BodyArmor Flash Tropical Punch powder mix & Honey Stinger gummies are my go to.
